Digital camera Review: Good for protection but .....

If you wanto to protect your Olympus Stylus 1030SW this silicon cover will work fine. The problem I found is if you need to change the battery or want to use a tripod you will have to remove it from the camera.
In addition, seems that the camera doesn't fit in the green neoprene case or in the "armband case" when using this cover.
In general terms, it works fine from protecting your camera from scratchings. Please consider using a kind of film protection for the LCD screen.

Silicon skin works well at protecting my 1030 SW. I carry the camera in my pocket all the time so protection is important. It blocks access to film and battery ports as well as the connection port but allows access to all the controls. It is easy to remove and reinstall. As a member of the US Armed Forces I'm all about putting my equipment through wet, dirty, cold, and generally hellacious conditions - enter the 1030SW, the only camera I've found that can take the kind of beating my profession delivers and still come back for more. The silicon case is an excellent accessory; the camera is easier to handle when wet, even more damage resistant, and the added protection is inexpensive.
Unfortunately, as noted in an earlier customer review, the silicon skin prevents the user from accessing the battery/memory compartment and data access port for downloading pictures. Getting the skin on and off and back on again can be a hassle - time for the razor blade (or Exacto knife). Five minutes and a steady hand allow access to the data port, battery compartment, and tripod mounting point, thereby making a marginally flawed product perfect (in my opinion) for its intended purpose: bringing the nearly indestructible 1030SW that much closer to invulnerability.
I sincerely hope that this provides you with useful information and please remember: When in doubt, modify to suit your needs.
