Digital camera reviews of Olympus STRAP FLOAT ORANGEDigital camera Review: Great accessory for 790SW Summary: 4 Stars
I bought the red strap, though the orange would have matched my camera better. I was skeptical after reading some of these reviews, but am THRILLED with my purchase. I wore this when I was floating in the river, snorkeling in the sea, jet skiing. I felt secure that it would keep my camera nearby if I should drop it in the water. I tried intentionally letting go of my camera while snorkeling and the strap brought it up close to the surface, making it easy to catch. The red color was easy to spot in the ocean. I didn't give it 5 stars because the strap didn't get tight enough on my wrist, though it held on to my bicep area when I put the camera up my arm, out of the way to swim a few strokes.
Digital camera Review: Great accessory for an underwater camera Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this strap for use with a Panasonic Lumix TS2 waterproof camera. The camera has excellent waterproof capabilities, but like any other waterproof camera, if you drop it in deep water it will still be gone for good. With this strap on the camera will float, making it an excellent accessory.
Digital camera Review: Great and Useful! Summary: 5 Stars
I actually have the Panasonic DMC-TS1 Orange. The strap matches beautifully. The camera is great underwater but it sinks. With the strap- I was confident in the ocean and the pool. I even left the strap float on its own and it could spot it easily.
If you have an underwater camera-buy it.
Digital camera Review: Great buy! Summary: 5 Stars
An excellent idea and well made - great for boating and floating with your waterproof camera.
Digital camera Review: Great floatation device Summary: 4 Stars
Used this in the pool to test at first and it worked fine there. Camera will sink immediately without this device. Subsequently went to Kauai and tried it out in the ocean and again, worked perfectly even in the salt water. Note that i never squeezed the product in the water (some people have said that causes the device to fill up with water). Point being - don't be stupid and squeeze it. The string (as i call it) that connects the float to the camera seems really flimsy, but it held up fine. Just be careful of friction outside of the water. Bright color is very easy to see. One thing to note is that one has to be careful when taking pictures with this device on, as it may occasionally float into the point of view and thus end up in your picture, but for the mostpart, it stayed straight up and didn't impair my picture taking much. Definitely a great piece to have so you don't have to worry about your $300 camera going down into 50 feet of water, or worse.
Great buy for the price. Must have for open waters.
