Do not buy this camera!!!! it is the worse camera ever. We were at the lake and the camera stopped working and you can see some water had entered the camera. I sent the camera in to Olympus and they told me that I have to pay $120 to get fix after I paid $400 for it and they actually told me that I have to send the camera every year to get it refurbish. After complaining about the misleading advertisement, the lady actually told me you can go to the web and express your feelings!!!! EVERY YEAR PAY $120 - IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY - AGAIN DO NOT BUY!!!!!Digital camera Review: Everyday in the ocean for over a year

I have been using an Olympus 1030SW everyday in the ocean for 17 months and it has performed flawlessly. I installed a split ring and neck lanyard and wear the camera inside my wetsuit while surfing. I knocked the battery door open once so I now use a piece of waterproof tape over the latch as an exta precaution. I wash the camera in dish soap and warm water after each use. Overnight I leave the "doors" open on the camera to keep the gaskets from becoming compressed. The plastic "eyebrow" around the lense came off after a few months but it dosen't affect camera operation. I have shot more than 15,000 images and endless hours of video with zero problems; all while going on, over and under ocean waves on a surfbord. I bought the all silver case model; it still looks great; it is just starting to show corrosion where the end plates are fastened to the main body. I will purchase another 1030SW or try the new Tough 8000. Great camera that has performed and lasted with just a little care.Digital camera Review: Exactly what he wanted

This was a gift for my husband. He is a big hunter and fisherman so it is perfect for him. He loves it. It is hard to see through the screen though looking into the sun but really that isn't a big deal for him.Digital camera Review: Excellent Camera

This is an excellent camera. My husband bought it for me for our trip to Hawaii after my Pentax waterproof camera broke. It takes great terrestrial photos as well as underwater photos. The battery lasts fairly well, and the charger is small and compact. It has many options of different modes, including a few different choices for underwater modes -which is great. It was a convenient size to make it easy to take anywhere. I also use Nikon D300 and this is great for when you just want to take snapshots and don't want to take along a big camera.Digital camera Review: Excellent versatile and durable

This camera is the perfect all around camera with better than average image quality, durable housing, simple controls with the right depth of complexity for customizable images with great battery life.
We took our camera on a cruise - this camera was perfect. Underwater, bouncing off the ground and then taking great shots moments thereafter ..could you ask for anything more?
