Digital camera Review: All-terrain camera suits my lifestyle

I needed a tough, waterproof camera for work and play. I have previously carried around a point-and-shoot in a zip-lock bag which was marginally effective and a big pain to deploy. I love the sub-compact, shirt-pocket size of the 790SW and all of the capabilities in terms of water/dust/shockproofing. I replaced the wrist strap with a breakaway neck lanyard (Catstrap made by EK Accessories) and that's how I usually carry it when I am wading with my fly rod, up to my waist in muddy water in a duck blind or paddling my kayak. I love the internal zoom--the camera fires up instantly--I hit the "on" button and by the time I have a picture framed it is ready, flash is charged, etc. 7.1 resolution is more than sufficient for my use. Would love to have a bit more zoom but 3X seems to be pretty standard so I can live with it. Only other issue is the memory card--would prefer the use of an SD instead of the proprietary XD (the XD does not fit some card readers) but otherwise, the camera has thus far exceeded my expectations and the Amazon price even beat most listings on Ebay.Digital camera Review: Amazing compact camera

This camera is absolutely amazing. I have had it for over a year now and have used it in almost every imaginable environment. It is ideal for snorkeling and I have not had a single issue with temperature extremes from 120 to 0 degrees F. This is a perfect camera to pack along anywhere you go. I purchased this camera in November because I wanted a waterproof camera. I was worried that it would be slow at taking pictures like the Nikon point and shoots. After using it for a week, I had decided to buy my sister one for Christmas. It is a great camera that easily fits it your pocket and you can carry it anywhere. The photo quality isn't quite as good as my Canon. I have taken this camera to the pool, waterpark, beach, and on a few ski trips. The underwater photo quality is amazing; even better than the out of water photo quality. As many have suggested, if you don't need a waterproof or rugged camera buy something else and save the money. Camera around $130 are comparable as far as image quality and speed, but they can't get wet. I would recommend this camera to anyone who needed it.Digital camera Review: BY far the best camera

In the past two years, ive owned a canon powershot, and a kodak easyshare camera. This Olympus is definatly the most tolerant camera ive had. I bought it mainly for the underwater capability and its definitly exeeded my expectations. For me, photos taken underwater have come out extremely clear, and theyre really fun. I took it with me to florida, and most of the time i had it, it was underwater, and nothing has happened to damage it in any way. It continues to take clear, and impressive photos outside and under water, and i definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a small compact camera that is especially durable when it comes to almost anything.Digital camera Review: Bad water proof system

I bought this camera because i was traveling to galapagos and i thought that this trip deserves a water proof camera. But at the third day that I sumerge the camera in to the sea it got water inside. The camara broke down and i couldnt take any more pic in my trip. :(
