I can't say enough about this camera. I purchased it for the waterproof capability, though I never thought I could take such GREAT shots. POSTCARD QUALITY. BELIEVE IT!
I used the SCN setting a lot for available light (I hate a flash) and other situations and that feature helped tremendously.
Even the video clips come out great!

Digital camera Review: Was great until it leaked (twice)

I have had THREE of these cameras. The first one I broke due to leaving in a hydraulic lift and smashing the LCD (my fault-no fault of the camera). Surprisingly, the fine folks at Olympus repaired it for free. Unfortunately, that camera broke the first time I went snorkeling with it in less that 5 feet of water. I then returned it again, and Olympus sent me a brand new camera.
Sadly, while in Hawaii that camera broke while snorkeling again! This was also iN less than 5 feet of water. Overall, I was pleased with the photo quality and the drop-ability, but the camera never proved waterproof. I took it underwater twice and twice it broke; there is a design flaw in the battery compartment gasket. I just don't trust in on vacation anymore and will probably be buying the Pentax waterproof camera next.

We bought this camera with the intention of taking it outdoors for hiking, rock climbing, snorkeling, trail running, etc...
Although the picture quality was not perfect, we were able to capture all our adventures on this camera. When we took it Rock climbing in southwest Washington, I had it in my pocket on a snowy climb and it fell 35 feet out of my pocket, bounced on the rocks below and survived. The camera still worked perfectly! Any camera that can take a fall like that and still work, taking even more beatings over time, is amazing.
I highly recommend this product to any outdoor enthusiast who is afraid of breaking their camera. This one won't break. I hear their new camera, the "tough" is supposed to be even better.
