Digital camera Review: Amazon survivor!!

From May to June I went to the Peruvian Amazon for a course. I decided to buy the Olympus Stylus Zoom 140 camera, because it was for all weather and I heard that the zoom was good. The Amazon is a very hot and humid place, so be prepared! The interesting part of this is that the camera actually fell in the Amazon river, and it dived in it's case. The boat turned back to rescue it, and it was recovered working as new. Since that my camera has been working perfectly. That camera is really weather resistant and it is an Amazon survivor!! The only thing I don't like about it is that some objects are hard to focus when you get too close, but I am still very hapy with it.Digital camera Review: An excellent camera well worth the money

The Olympus Stylus Zoom 140 is an easy-to-use and flexible camera. The camera is push-button simple, has an awesome lens, is a small package--not too small so you can't comfortably hold it, like many APS cameras, but small enough to go anywhere--and it is weatherproof. In short, a great camera for trips. The camera feels solid and produces excellent quality images.I bought this camera as an easy-to-use backup to my 35mm SLR, but this lens and package is so flexible, this has become my first choice for picts . . . plus, it's very easy to carry around....
All in all, a the Stylus Zoom 140 is a worthwhile buy and a good value.

I bought this camera as a back-up for my SLR camera. First, this camera is not very compact. Second, the flap that slides over the lens when the camera is not on, seems very cheap and does not look like it would hold up to wear and tear. Also, the zoom lever on top of the camera is not user friendly. It is very small and it too looks as though it would not stand up to wear and tear. Another bad point is that the lever to open the camera back is hard to use. The most important thing is that when I had the camera set to use the red-eye reducer, ALL of the pictures came back with red-eye. It DOES NOT WORK. I have studied photography and am not a casual photographer. In my opinion, this camera is not worth the ... it costs. I promptly returned mine.Digital camera Review: CAMERA

We bought this camera for the 140-zoom. We're very happy with the zoom and all the easy-to-use features. However, the pictures sometimes come out dark even on bright sunny days. After reading the other reviews, we are either taking pictures at the wrong angle or using the wrong film (400-speed) or using a poor developer. If we figure it out, we'll let you know.
