My experience matches most of the others - this is a useful, effective item. I typically wear an over-the-ear noise-blocking headset while recording consulting sessions. I put the ear-bud in and my headset over it. Worked just fine and was comfortable. I especially like the hint in another review to use this as a microphone.Digital camera Review: Great microphone!

I really love how this works. It is very compatible with my voice recorder and records well. I see a lot of people making complaints that it doesn't record well or that the recorder records the voice too loudly. The problem here isn't the product it IS the operator. You must place the recorder a decent distance away from your mouth so as not to sound as though you are yelling into it. If the recorder is placed at a decent distance from the mouth then it will record appropriately on both sides.
It DOES work like a charm if the operator uses common sense.

I connected this product directly to my laptop and recorded the conversation using Audacity. I could hear very well both sides of the conversation and with comparable volume.
