I bought this product under the assumption I could download the lectures from school to my computer. This was based on other customer reviews who said it would work. But it doesn't. I know I could boot up my computer with Windows, but I'd have to buy Windows and I refuse to do that. Anyway, Mac users beware - it doesn't work for me and probably won't work for you. My computer won't recognize it. It works fairly well recording lectures but only if the professor stays close to the microphone. I'd say the product works as was designed but is not Mac compatible.Digital camera Review: Digital voice recorder

Recorder is a cute little thing. I really like the screen -- it displays all the information I need. On low volume, the recording quality is quite good. As I do most of my recording in areas where I need to speak softly, this is great for me. Recorder comes with a USB cable and software which allows me to record directly to my computer. My computer is very up to date, fast, and new. I installed the CD that came with it, and then when I plug the recorder to the PC, no transfer of voice recordings.
I really really really wished it transferred. I am very disappointed.

It's bad enough that this doesn't even attempt to be compatible with the Mac, but we can't get it to work with our PC, either. There are NO instructions for getting it to work in the owner's manual and no help online either. It's nice and small, and records well, but no good to me if the file can't be put onto the computer.
