I've probably had it a month now. Recorded a business meeting and used it while writing up the notes of the meeting. My daughter also uses it to review reading material. Great, surprisingly small. Could not find the CD so went to the Olympus America website where you can't download the software. I assumed you could just connect it to your USB and your PC would be able to get at your recordings (like a flash drive.) Not true. You must install their software from their CD. I did find the CD. One more improvement, I love being able to play back faster than normal. The PC software should have this feature too.Digital camera Review: Good for what I was needing

I purchase this for a new job where I would be taking minutes at various meetings. It's great for documentation. I am able to put the recodings into the project file on my computer for futher review. Later, these diffent project files go on to CD for the main paper files.
The only negative is reading the screen. Would be nice if there was some back-lighing.

I've used this recorder in court and for interviews in person and on the telephone and have been very pleasantly surprised by it. I bought it because I'd finally had it with my mini-cassette recorder, which constantly let me down. Being able to transfer sound files onto my computer is also extremely handy for storage and transcription purposes. If I had any complaints it would be with the software, which doesn't seem to allow transferring individual files from the folders onto the computer. Instead you have to transfer entire folders, which can take longer to do. The IT guys at my workplace also had some trouble getting the software to install on the computer. I am very happy with the VN2100PC Digital Voice Recorder. No complaints. The software package is not quite as robust as I would like, but there are plenty of work arounds available.
