This is a slightly older model, but I prefer it to the newer ones for usability. Doesn't have any confusing buttons, only the buttons I need. Stop. Play. Record. It was simple to download the voice files onto my computer, and I can now burn them CD if desired.
I recorded on high sound quality, the sound is okay but certainly not fantastic. But I didn't buy it for sound quality. I bought it so I could have a handy thing to grab whenever my brilliant ideas strike.
One downside. Runs on 2 AA's batteries. When I'm sitting near a computer, it would be nice if it could get the juice from a USB instead. It also doesn't have what the newer ones have--the ability to plug directly into USB port when downloading. Instead, I have to have a cable. Fine with me.
Overall, a truly nice product for writers who don't want something hard to figure out.

This item works well whether recording concerts or a professor's lecture. Excellent sound quality and extremely high sensitivity. I'm not a journalist, so I bought this recorder to take notes of ideas, and to remember things I need to do. It is very easy to use once you've read the instrucction (If you haven't had one of this before), and is very lightweight so I carry it in my pourse everywhere I go. The only thing I would recomend is to always check if the HOLD button is on, because otherwise the batteries will run out to quickly.Digital camera Review: Great things do come in small sized!

I am a musician and a composer of music and the Olympus VN2100PC Digital Voice Recorder has proven to be a priceless tool for me. I have used it effectively to record ideas I have about new compositions I may have, and it is very easy use. It is also very easy to transfer what you have recorded to your PC.
