Digital camera Review: Great product for transcription and Seminar recording
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this product to record seminars as well as to use it to transcribe chart notes at work. I purchased the transcription kit which includes the DSS program, foot pedal and headphones. The system works beautifully.
I haven't had a chance to use it to record seminars yet, but I know with the DSS program and the ease of transferring the WMA files to my computer, that the WS-320M will perform beautiful. The 1Gb capacity should mean that I have virtually no limit while recording seminars.
Great product! I've already recommended it to a colleague.

Digital camera Review: Great product.!
Summary: 5 Stars

As a non-technologically savvy person, I was pleasantly surprised to find this product extremely easy to use!

I primarily use this item for recording lectures - others' and my own, in a college setting.

The wave files are very easy to transfer to my desktop computer and later burn on CDs.

I do find that the batteries seem to wear out faster than advertised so be sure to carry extras if you attend a multi-day conference!

Be aware that the DVR is VERY sensitive to sound, as advertised.

While generally this is very helpful, the mechanism does pick up a buzz from flourescent lighting.

If you touch the DVR after setting it down and turning it on, you WILL hear it in the resulting recording.

Digital camera Review: Great recorder with minor flaws
Summary: 4 Stars

Overall, this is an excellent recorder. High quality sound and the ability to simply connect this to a USB port to transfer the audio is an incredibly convenient feature. This thing performs consistently well with no hiccups, but there are a couple of things you need to be aware of prior to purchasing:

1. It's made of plastic - it's very light and feels quite fragile. We use it to record Sunday morning sermons for a new church plant, so it's fine for our use... I'm not confident how well it would work under any abuse (but not sure).

2. It uses a AAA battery - no way to recharge this thing - so you have to be sure you have enough juice for whatever you're using it for. Each battery lasts a few sermons for us - minor annoyance, but should be considered.

3. The buttons on this thing are tiny as well as the labels. Fine for me, but if you have eyesight problems, this could be difficult to read. The controls are all confined into a small space, so it's easy to hit the wrong button if you have big fingers or are in any way clumsy.

I know, I know - sounds like I don't like it. Really - I love this thing - no real complaints, but I thought you'd like to know any potential downsides.

Digital camera Review: Great size, great price, great performance...
Summary: 5 Stars

I am a success coach and I record all my coaching calls as a standard practice. This recorder has performed fantastically in all situations. I get about 9 - 12 continuous hours of battery operation (depending on battery quality) and the unit captures voices flawlessly during my calls (I have an adapter for the phone). I have used this in a seminar setting and have had great results. I highly recommend using rechargeable batteries (always have one extra on hand) when you are going to use the unit for extended periods of time. Recharge before your event each day and you won't miss a thing. The unit only uses one battery and it's always a great idea to have a spare. The unit does not audibly warn when the battery is about to expire, so keeping a fresh charge should provide you with uninterrupted recordings. Each stop and restart begins a new file. For me that works great! If you are looking for one continuous file, do not shut it off. You can also buy software that will let you merge the files for your later use. You would be hard pressed to find a better product for the money.

Digital camera Review: Great voice recorder, love olympus brand
Summary: 5 Stars

I used olympus tape recorder for lecture notes when I was in school. It helped me so much to pass those tough tests in the "old golden days":) In the past, I tried several voice recorders including Sony & panasonic, but I have to say Olympus is the best. When I decided to upgrade my recorder to digital, I purchased Olympus VN-960PC 128 MB Digital Voice Recorder with PC Link in local Sam's club. The quality of voice recording is so much better compared to tape recorder. But it has very small memeory, and does not allow me to carry my favorite songs or recordings from other sources with me because it only allows loading recordings to PC, not the other way around. Finally, I bought this model from amazon( but mine is 2GB memory), it's great. I love to load MP3 music to the recorder and listen to them when I walk or jog. The quality of recording is crytal clear. MP3 playback is wonderful. It's so easy to use. I just wish I'd bought this one to begin with.

Also, I want to sing praise to amazon.com. If I had any problems, Amazon took care of it in a timely manner. What else can I ask for. it's truly one of the most trusted place to shop online. Thanks very much for taking good care of your loyal customer.
