Digital camera reviews of OmniMount CCH1B Center Channel Speaker ShelfDigital camera Review: Omnimount Center Channel Speaker - Worth it Summary: 4 Stars
I have a Samsung 61" DLP (HL61A750) and needed a place to store my 20lb Polk Audio center channel. This stand is great. Sturdy and attractive when mounted according to other reviewers on this board. I installed upside down as suggested and the shelf looks great. It gets 4 stars because the instructions were difficult to understand so throw em out. Don't panic if you see something in the instructions that didn't come out of the box. Most of the parts are (for some reason) already attached to each other even though they appear separate in the installation guide.
Bottom line: If you have a product that is under the weight limit of this shelf and you do not want to drill through your wall, get this item.
Digital camera Review: Omnimount Speaker Shelf Summary: 5 Stars
This product is a simple yet elegant solution to center channel speaker placement on thin lcd, dlp or plasma large screen televisions. It is easy to assemble and unobtrusive in use. Excellent value and a real problem solver for many people.
Digital camera Review: One of a kind Summary: 5 Stars
This unit can be utilized proper if you know how to install it properly. I tried to use it upside down like someone else mentioned and it worked. You just have to mess around with it and be patient. I didnt even buy it on-line because of all the positive/negative comments. I bought it form CC and i count be happier. Great unit!
Used on Sony 60A3000
Digital camera Review: PERFECT for Cable receiver! Summary: 5 Stars
We have a 50inch projection television that we have ALWAYS had to put the cable receiver on the floor since we didnt want a surrounding entertainment center. I had seen & heard about something similar before but had never found anywhere to purchase one. This one is GREAT! It's more exspensive than the other plastic models, but it's solid. I had a little trouble putting it together only because I either read passed or it did not mention inserting the front feet that grab onto the front of the TV. I would highly rercommend this item!
Digital camera Review: Pretty Good Device Summary: 4 Stars
It works as planned. To test it, I put a duffle bag full of random "crash-ready" stuff on the platform overnight. Probably 20 lbs worth. It did fine. I would not put anything more than 20 lbs on it. Also, if you are thinking about putting any electronic device up there, don't. I had my receiver up there for a little while (to make it easier to access while hooking up my system) and it created some sort of interference with the television (too close to it, I guess). Not the shelf's fault, though.
Downsides: it's kind of ugly on my brand new TV. It stands out. It's very functional, but it's also very - big. Great for big speakers, not-so-great for smaller speakers. Looks funny.
Also, static electricity builds up on the platform with my television. If you touch the speaker (probably your center channel speaker) while it's sitting on the platform, it will shock you. At least mine does! I'm not sure if this is the shelf's fault, or my particular setup - but be warned. I put a piece of black cardboard underneath the speaker, and now the static has gone.
Very functional shelf with some downsides. I'm just glad someone actually makes these, as I have nowhere else to put my center channel.
