Digital camera reviews of OmniMount Television Top Shelf (CCH1P)Digital camera Review: TV top shelf Summary: 4 Stars
Works on most sets. Had to do some hardware modifications at home to make it work. Would have been nice to have the product dimensions before purchase.
Digital camera Review: This is the one you want!!! The real deal... Summary: 5 Stars
Like a good consumer, I spent a few weeks looking for a high quality shelf, willing to spend a few more bucks for something that would safely hold my heavy cable box and slightly-expensive Sony upconverting DVD player. There are multiple brands of TV-top shelves out there, and without actually seeing the shelves in person, I wasn't sure which one would stand up to the task of holding both of my components safely. They all look like cheap plastic to me. I was afraid of getting something that wouldn't hold my components.
Well, I picked correctly. The OMNIMOUNT shelf is the REAL DEAL. I figured no matter what shelf I bought, I would get some plasticky, cheap parts...or an entirely plastic cheap shelf. I was wrong with this one.
The OMNIMOUNT shelf I bought was the silver/platinum version, as I have an older HDTV that is silver in color. I was surprised to see how nice this looked. It kinda looks like a metal "fence" or, "grate" in the picture, but looks MUCH nicer in person. Shiny and smooth...very stylish, if a shelf could be stylish in any way.
The most impressive part? Every single piece of this shelf is METAL. The shelf, the legs, feet, the extensions, the pegs in the front that keep it from sliding, etc. Every. Single. Piece. METAL. I actually TRIED to bend the shelf itself (with my bare hands), and I couldn't do it. It's absolutely hardcore sturdy. The screws, legs, and front pegs screw in tightly. The legs are completely adjustable - you WILL find a length you need. It has 2 different extensions for the legs, and one set is adjustable as well. The feet swivel and tilt, for any degree of slope on the back of your TV. It comes with strong velcro and soft foot-pads for the back legs.
It installs pretty quickly, but be prepared to do some measuring etc to get the legs right so that your shelf is level, and also to get it centered on the tv (as with any shelf). So on top of the shelf, I piled up my Cable box and DVD player, and I have NO fear of this falling off or (especially) the shelf breaking. This will NOT break or bend. The legs will NOT break. The velcro and pads keep it secure, without question. After I had the components on the shelf, I put more weight on the back of the shelf (with my hand) to see if everything would hold up, and needless to say this shelf can withstand much more than what I put on it.
To be honest (not that I would try), this shelf could probably hold 3 or 4 more units and still be sturdy (again, don't try it). It's THAT strong and sturdy.
This is, 100% without a doubt, THE SHELF you are looking for. You will be impressed and satisfied.
Hands down, a great buy.
Digital camera Review: Top Choice TV Top Shelf Mount Summary: 5 Stars
I did my homework before making a purchase and read every opinion I could on these tv top mount shelves. I found the thicker black plastic ones to be very unattractive and cheesy for my new 60" TV. However, when came upon the Omnimount and its very thin, about 1/16" sleak design I knew this is what I wanted. So again I went out and read other reviews on this product. This was very helpful as I found that many people were "dis-satisfied" because they thought parts were missing on shipment which was not true! I found that the factory assembles all of the small loose pieces together in the box. When you open the box you "must" note that their assembly configuration was for shipping and you are not looking at a complete product ready to use. You must first "read" and "LOOK" at the instructions pictures and then you will see how to take apart a few small pieces and reassemble as needed for your paticular TV. Many people thought the front pins that hold the TV shelf to the front top of the TV were missing. You will have some pieces left over so don't panic! Also, this stand will hold the weight as they tout, its bullit proof, worth the money and a great buy!

Digital camera Review: Works great for my Bose Wave radio/cd player Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this to put my Bose on so I could hook it up to my T.V. I bought the industrial velcro to secure it & have had no problems with it slipping. The assembly was easy, but suggest if you install as recomended to put some felt between the front pegs and the T.V. so as not to scratch the cabnet. The only problem I have is the nic-nac's vibrating off the top of the T.V. but that is due to the volume level of the item I bought the shelf for.
