I got this lens hood for my Canon 18-135mm 3.5-5.6f lens.
After reading the reviews I was worried about the construction quality or fit on my lens, but when I got it I was quickly relieved.
The price was the main attraction, and the quality of the item did not suffer for it.
The plastic is sturdy, and my lens has been spared the occasional bump by the hood.
It is also very easy to put on and take off. Its fits perfectly, and isn't too loose or too tight.
Finally, it does its job in preventing lens flare, etc... while shooting. If you need a lens hood, this is a cheap, high quality substitute for a Canon brand hood.

Opteka's EW-73B Lens Hood is designed for the Canon EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM SLR Lens. Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact.
