At last, something from Opteka that does work. Ok, it might be corded and not cordless, but this remote control does work. I tested it standing on a frozen lake, so it works in the coldest of temperatures. It set the camera to shoot within a few seconds and captured excellent self portraits every time. I was able to press the remote and then postion my self without having to hold the remote in front of me so no cord in the shot. But then I was using a Canon Rebel XTi, so that might differ to the camera you use. Definately worth the purchase for beginners, worth the purchase to have as a backup in case the cordless remote, which I also have, fails. Digital camera Review: XTi OWNERS BEWARE

Works perfectly on my Canon XT.Some have suggested a longer cord but truth be told the short cord does'nt get in my way(lengthening the cord is fairly e-z and cheap also). The price point ease of ordering and quick delivery make this an easy purchase.All the control you have with the camera shutter button you have with this remote. Can truly help on longer exposures by eliminating vibrations.
