Digital camera Review: Didn't work and lost lots of precious pics

We bought this card before our family vacation to Yellowstone park. Put it in the camera and it seemed to work fine for about half a day. Then the camera started acting strange and I could no longer access the card. I tried downloading pics to my laptop that evening, but no luck. When we got home from vacation, had a computer expert examine the card and try several methods to retrieve data. No luck. The only suggestion was to send it to a data recovery company and pay big bucks to see if any of the pictures could be retrieved. I gave up and returned it to the manufacturer for a replacement card. I had heard that some manufacturers try to retrieve the pictures for you. PNY, however, would not do so. It's not their policy.
