I had a PNY 4GB (non readyboost) before I bought this one. I bought this for Windows Vista's Readyboost feature. However, before it arrived I had bought Windows XP and scrapped Vista. So sorry, can't comment on the Readyboost feature but from what I've read it will only benefit you if you're low on RAM.
This drive is REALLY fast. First thing I noticed was that it was a lot quicker to be recognized and opened up by Windows Explorer. As far as transfer rates? I recently upgraded my old computer (USB 1.1) to a new computer with USB 2.0 so yeah, its FAST. Though I don't see how this could be fast enough for RAM usage...
I give it 4 out of 5 stars because the case (like most PNY USB Keys) is about as loose as my old shoes... you pull it out of your computer and boom - no USB Key but USB outer shell casing in your hand. It is REALLY annoying. I'm going to try to super glue it or something. I might post back if it works. Till then, what I did with my old PNY key was to just take off the outer shell and use the cap.
Good USB Key nonetheless. I do recommend it.

THis PNY thumbdrive functions as advertised. It holds 4GB of information, fits easily in a pocket and has not fallen apart despite rough handling. The case for the drive is better put together than previous generations of PNY flash drives as well. The back part is solid and will not slide off. This is a great drive and shipped quickly. I have several 4G jump drivers & all are easy to use. This one is the slowest one. If you transfer normal doc/pdf files, it is ok. But, if you want get big size of files like RAW pics or vedio clips, I don't recommend this one.Digital camera Review: Works well

I initially got the flash drive for the ReadyBoost. However, it didn't work as well as I thought (though this is almost definitely because of my computer, and probably has nothing to do with the flash drive). Overall, it's a very effective storage unit for a very low price.
