Digital camera Review: Wonderful USB Drive

In previous experiences, I liked PNY USB drives. So when I needed a larger drive, I purchased this one. It was an excellent choice. The drive is small (smaller than the old 1GB drives) and very light weight. It has a nice color to it, so that it doesn't stand out while on your key chain. The cap stays on as well, which is always a factor with thumb drives.
I had no problems using the drive on several different computers. There was no software to install. Just plug and use. It transfers files very quickly and is cheap in price. I would recommend this to anyone who needed a USB drive.
Digital camera Review: Works OK but Patriot XT is MUCH FASTER

These flash drives work OK. I really abuse my flash drives (backing up multiple gigs of data many times a day), and I have only had 1 failure with any PNY drive.
However, the Patriot XT drives (XT Boost, XT Rage and Magnum) are much faster, and I have never had any failures from any Patriot drive.

I bought one of these 'on sale' after the Holidays ina big box store and was able to back up my home PC & another laptop to it. Also, the PNT flash drive offered a promotional free movie if I bought it- so I downloaded 'Close Encounters" and used a new HD screen laptop- fun! But, I plugged it into my new laptop and it offered to be available for 'ReadyBoost', which is a Windows 7 way to use flash memory as RAM. So, I purchased another 8GB unit for less than $18.00 & free shipping, which I am going to commit full time as added RAM, as I only have 4GB in the laptop itself. There are too many reviews claiming flimsiness for it to be a random issue, so, I recommend caution for those who have kids, are rough with thier equipment, or carry it round all of the time.
Strengths: Fast enough for ReadyBoost, came with a free movie, low cost.
Weaknesses: Too fat to allow another accessory to be plugged in next to it.
Overall, an excellent value with a few hiccups. Seems fast enough, but too wide for another usb plug to fit in the slot next too it. That's a bummer, and most flash drives are narrower in overall width. But, for under $18.00 for 8GB, it's a solid value.

This is a great product, I should have bought the 16 gig one nevertheless. The only problem with it is when you use it for readyboast. Once your format it (3.99 gb by the way) it is impossible to stop it. Everytime you plug the stick into your computer it immediately starts readyboast. Since it uses 4 gigs for readyboast I really only have a 4 gig thumbdrive. So what I will do is delete readyboast whenever I have to transfer files that are larger than 4 gigs. But you can only do this when you plug the stick into another computer, on the one that it is formatted for it will tell you that readyboast is in use so you cannot stop it or delete it.Digital camera Review: survived washing machine

I lost this and have been looking for it for over a month. Then I washed some of my cargos and when I pulled them out I saw it lying, CAP OFF, (I found the cap weeks ago) in the bottom of the washing machine. ARGHHHHH....I thought, there is no way this things works, all my files will be ruined. NOPE. Popped this baby into the laptop and she works perfectly! Opened several files to make sure. Another plus is when you do have the cap on, heh heh, it fits snugly.
