I like the old ergonomic keyboards a little better than the new ones, but needed one for the Acer Revo mini-desktop computer which only has usb ports and no PS2 ports. I looked over the options on Amazon and found that there were two kinds of PS2 to USB adapters. One is a simple pass through kind which only works with keyboards and mice that had come with a PS2 to USB adapter originally. The other kind is this one, which allows for keyboards and mice that were even built before the USB ports became popular. I am very happy with the Amazon reviews that warned me of the difference and got this one instead of the simple pass through kind. Just to prove that the adapter works, I am typing this review on an ergonomic keyboard that is using it! One caveat, though, on the Revo and on many computers, the USB ports are packed tightly together, often in pairs. This adapter is so thick that it would block one from using the USB port next to the one that this adapter plugs into (another review mentioned this as well). I tend to use all my USB ports and so this is an important thing to know. If you are not using all of them, then it is a nonissue, and you merely lose the ability to use the USB port next to the one that this is plugged into. If you are using all the USB ports, then you will need a USB extension cable (female usb to male usb) that has a thin male usb connector to plug into the computer. I am using one that I had. I still give this adapter five stars even though it has this limitation.
