I bought it because it said it is a new item. But when I got it, it is not in original package and the fliping screen guard already installed!!
If they said it in anywhere on their product page about open boxed item (or used) then I will not pay the new item price!!!Circuit City is on sale this week $299-$70MIR-$40($40 off $199coupon)Which surely is NEW.

Don't really know where to start...tapped on a note today to retrieve tech specs while at a customer site and it shut off. Started it back up (with the reset button) and it did exactly the same thing. Routinely needs to be started with the reset hole in the back instead of the power button. Litters your Outlook notepad and calendar with duplicate entries and you have to figure out which one is current. Changes all-day Outlook appointments that are "free" to "busy" (all day). Hard reset results in a never-ending loop of "tap here" to align the stylus/screen that won't let you out.
This device has been a major disappointment, especially after the incredibly reliable Zire 71 I "upgraded" from for all the cool features of the TX. I've been trying to convince myself I haven't been had for the two months I've owned it and have finally given up. Will try to get a few bucks refund out of Amazon, otherwise it's going in the landfill...I can't ethically try to sell this piece of garbage. Buyer beware. Maybe you'll get one of the ones all these reviewers are happy with, or maybe you'll get one like mine. And I thought the Pocket PC platform was flaky!

I really want to purchase this item but...after reading some of the reviews I get the feeling if I order this PALM TX is will arrive refurbished. Please tell me if I will receive a NEW or REFURBISHED TX is I order this PALM TX from Amazon. Anybody???? While the packaging was generic, it was well packed and arrived in new condition. This is my 4th "palm" PDA - 2 Handspring Visors, Palm Zire 72, and now Palm TX. I decided to upgrade for the larger screen, faster processor, and WiFi capabilities. I'm happy with this decision and with the TX. I had some initial problems transferring my data and programs and with the TX crashing. I called the vendor's customer support and left a message. They promptly returned my call, set-up an appointment, and helped me solve the problems. I've had no problems since then. Before this purchase I considered a PDA phone but I decided I didn't want to give up the larger display area of a dedicated PDA.Digital camera Review: Avoid this organizer at all cost

I recently attempted to upgrade from the Zire to the Palm TX. The organizer seemed fine at first. All went well for one week until the weird application looping started ( where it goes from one application to the other when you attempt to reach the desktop). Resets did not help and Palm tech support was able to solve the problem temporarily. I finally gave up and shipped it back to retailer. I would not rely on this machine with my important contact info.
