Digital camera reviews of Palm TX Handheld with Hard CaseDigital camera Review: Fast but limited Summary: 3 Stars
Nice to have a palm pilot with a bigger screen. My eyes are getting weaker and it really helps. Very fast processor. The bluetooth is a bit limited. I can hot sync without cables pretty quick. However, could not get my nice Motorola bluetooth headphones to pair with the TX. Some things just won't pair.
THe Blazer browser is pretty weak. Cannot get any you tube videos. Can't get much videos at all. Pretty much do not use it at all as a web browser. Also, had to know the encryption on routers I wanted to wifi to. My Itouch just knew. My Itouch has a much stronger browser with crystal clear picture.
I was really tempted to just use my Itouch instead of the TX. Memo is much better than Itouch "notes". Also, the TX has spread sheets and can use a key board. Have not found that for the Itouch.
In general, it is pretty much a business organization machine but falls short as an entertainment/business device.
Digital camera Review: Fine product, if you can get one that works Summary: 3 Stars
I've bought Palm/Handspring products for years and never had a problem with a unit not working right out of the box. This time around, the first two units shipped were defective. I really like the product, but getting one that worked was a frustrating experience: 9 hours of charging 3 units, another hour fiddling with installation, two trips to the UPS office for the returns, and about 3 weeks to finally get one that worked.
Digital camera Review: Glad I went back Summary: 4 Stars
I had to replace a Treo accidentally damaged. I found after trying it that having both phone and PDA in one unit was unsatisfactory for me, largely because the unit was too bulky to wear comfortably on my belt. Going back to a tiny phone (Razr) and separate PDA has been a relief. And what a PDA. This unit comes without a keyboard, but the virtual keyboard is so easy to access and the graffiti writing recognition system has been so improved, that I don't notice the absence of the keyboard most of the time. Adequate memory, expansion card slot, and excellent resolution of the LCD screen are all bonuses. And the hard case even has two slots for keeping extra memory cards handy. I have a language translation card and a game card handy all the time now, and not separately stored.
Digital camera Review: Going back to paper Summary: 1 Stars
After 8 years and 7 devices, I'm giving up and going back to paper. Palm's quality control is terrible, and the outsourced tech support is useless. The screen on this device started behaving weirdly after 1 day of use - registering 1/4-inch away from where I touched it, or not registering at all. I've had enough.
Digital camera Review: Good Palm, questionable case Summary: 4 Stars
The palm is great, although I wish it came with an instruction book. I don't care for the case. Too slippery in the hand when using it, dropped it a couple of times. Also, the palm sits too deeply into the case and you need to "flip" it to gain access to the stylus.
