Digital camera reviews of Palm Z22 HandheldDigital camera Review: .......deceived?????? Summary: 4 Stars
I feel that perhaps I was deceived into buying my palm.......while I didn't want a used one........I fell for the statement 'still in new packaging'......wouldn't you sense that it was new??? Well, when I receive the devise I was unable to Sync with my computer because my name would not was another name already in there as the owner.....that certainly told me that someone has used it at sometime.......granted the Palm appeared in very good condition.......but I had to pay my computer man to come and figure out how to get rid of "LEEGOFF"......it took an hour and half to get rid of "LEEGOFF"!! and cost me $60......should have just gone Staples and bought one really new....would have been better off from the start.........Palm instructions for this problem were advise with Amazon.Com, be leary of 'new vs. used'......Virginia Miller, Ohio PS. Now that my Palm is in sync with my computer.....I really like it and it serves my purposes....
Digital camera Review: 5 Stars for Device, -1 for Palm Support Summary: 4 Stars
As a person who was more comfortable with a paper calendar than a digital one, I LOVE this device. It is easy to use, the battery life is great and the size is small enough to not be a burden, while big enough to read the display.
That said, I have found the support from Palm to be lacking. Aside from the live chat support who, while they couldn't solve the issue I had with syncing (more to come), were very helpful. Phone support, on the other hand, was rude and one service person intentionally disconnected me.
If you have Windows Vista or intend to sync to Outlook 2007, plan on purchasing third-party software. Why a third party can figure out how to do what Palm can't is beyond me. But the software and updates provided by Palm aren't sufficient to allow users to sync with their Outlook calendars.
Love the device, but I don't know that I will go with Palm again.
Digital camera Review: 90 Day wonder Summary: 1 Stars
This is the third, and probably the last Palm product we will own. The organizer worked good until the warranty ran out. After 102 days the organizer died. I hope that others have not had the same bad experience.
Digital camera Review: 90 day warranty on this and Zire 31 Summary: 1 Stars
I'm only placing my Zire31 review on this Z22 page to warn potential buyers of short 90 day warranties and poor hardware on these less expensive units. Hmmm, I wonder why they only offer 90 day warranties then? The more expensive ones carry 1 year warranties. I bet those hold up a year or more. I don't want people to think I mean the Z22 will have the Zire31 problems I had, just be wary of the product carrying a shorter warranty like mine. See below for my Zire31 review....
"I originally bought this Zire 31 after having good luck with my previous m105. I just got tired of the AA batteries hard resetting the unit when changing them, and the m105 didn't sync with Outlook natively without buying extra software. Anyway, there is a reason why the new Zires have 90 day warranties and other more expensive Palms have 1 year warranties. After 4 months (one month beyond warranty) the mini-usb port on the side went bad. Every time I plug in a cable, it hard resets itself and loses all data. Even if you jiggle the cable slightly it does this. After 20 minutes on the phone with a tech support person in the far east, I still could not convince him of this. He kept saying I needed to try this or that, totally unrelated to the real problem. I guess it wasn't in his script! He just didn't understand. When I finally talked to someone else, they informed me of the 90 day warranty, and that I would have to pay $75.00 minimum to repair. It only cost $130! After shipping, why bother! Spend the extra money for one with a longer warranty, or better yet, don't buy a Palm. Don't buy this one even if you buy the extended warranty. Why hassle with it breaking at all. Very disappointed with the unit, and with Palm in general. Hope this helps anyone who may even be considering this unit."
Digital camera Review: A Good Palm Summary: 5 Stars
Il get right to the point. Palm made a trade off between features and money. This palm cost a low $[...] at retail price, BUT only has aprox 4,000 colors( an average color palm has 40,000 i think). Another thing is no expandable memory slot which made me hesitate before buying it. It also is not compatible with a lot of features to see what i mean go to [...](on the bottom it compares all the new palms)Some people might think its worse becuase it only has 2 side buttons, but ill tell you something - its better with 2. now ill give a pros/cons.
PROS=
Big bang for your buck.
is good for a person who just needs an organizer and isnt intrested in multimedia.
small.
i-pod style look.
can hold most games
long battery life
CONS=
no radio,video clips, internet, mp3.
low graphics.
no memory slot
Also my pesonal favorite game is Bike or Die which is avalible to download at bike.toyspring.com
All in all this palm is affordable, usefull, and one of Palm's best products.
