Digital camera reviews of Palm Z22 Handheld

Digital camera Review: A Lesser Palm
Summary: 5 Stars

For years I have had and used Palm Pilot and I have enjoyed the programs offered, but now my needs are fewer. This Palm satisfies those needs nicely. Whereas I would love to have one of the hi-tech models (such toys to play with), I really no longer have a need for the many options that they provide. The Z22 contains my schedule and my contacts which are of great importance to me, as well as some other necessities such as expense, note pad and memos. It is easy to use and the new method of HotSync is great for travel.

Digital camera Review: A PDA for those who want a PDA.
Summary: 4 Stars

This PDA doesn't have a camera, an mp3 player, high-end video games, or a cell phone on it. And that doesn't bother me much, because I already have all of those items, and they do just fine. I needed something to keep my day organized, and this -$100 beauty was just what I needed to accomplish that.

This was the first time I have owned a PDA, and I was impressed by how easy it was to use. I consider myself a fairly technology-savvy individual, but I still like being able to get where I want to do without going through a myriad of submenus.

The small size allows it to fit in my front shirt pocket with minimal difficulty. Considering my pants pockets are filled with my iPod, my phone, and my wallet, this was a blessing.

Reading e-books is also quite easy. I found myself in an unexpected waiting period of over an hour, and I had only my PDA. I was able to keep the screen a reasonable distance away from my face without squinting, and the navigation buttons made scrolling through the pages a breeze.

I had to take away half a star for lack of memory expansion. A jump drive is a short-term solution, but it would have been nice to have. It might have added bulk to the device, but I would have paid extra to have that feature.

The other half-star I had to take away was for its near-unreadability in direct sunlight. Granted, most of us are using our PDA's in office environments and not outside under the sun, but I had to adjust the contrast a significant amount to barely read what was on the screen. It might have been the screen protector, but screen protectors are a neccessity with these devices.

Regardless, the price for what it provides cannot be beaten. A good, solid PDA for those who want a PDA.

Digital camera Review: A Second Brain for a 50+er
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been in need of some kind of organizer that I can use to store information about my job, my personal life and the activities and commitments of my children. I also needed it to be affordable, easy to use, and something I would actually use. The Palm Z22 has met all of the criterion. I just love it! Its sleek size makes it easy to carry in my pocket. It is so user friendly I was able to master it in a day. Best of all I use it everyday. It has allowed me to become more organized. I'm not double booking, carrying around too many dates in my head, and being late or forgetting something. I was so excited about it I told a friend and she ordered it from Amazon and is as pleased as I am. It's a great product and so far I have had absolutely no problems.

Digital camera Review: A basic, limited, piece of junk. Not worth one cent.
Summary: 1 Stars

The terrible: no advanced functionality, terrible looking screen, doesn't support Microsoft Outlook 2003 or later, total lack of driver support.

The positive: cheap. That's about it.

Digital camera Review: A decent basic handheld
Summary: 3 Stars

This unit provides the basics of a handheld with none of the extras. A decent unit at a good price. The air case works well-- light, unobtrusive, easy to access the PDA. The disadvantages I've found so far are that the screen is not terribly responsive to the stylus. There is a lag between tapping the screen and the appearance of what you clicked on. The accuracy of response to the Graffiti is even worse. Visually, the fonts are tiny and the clarity is not great. Altho I can change the size and format of the font for the phone directory, once I tap on the person's name, the phone number appears in a tiny font.
