This answering system is everything I wanted. It is easy to set up and use. The dual handset gives you an extension in another room that can be used as an intercom. The built in alarm clock, phone book, and optional wall mount are other nice features. It also has a variety of ring tones to choose from. This is two phones and an answering machine for the price of one phone.
There are other extras, like number memory and caller ID.
I must mention that I dropped one of the phones into the bathtub and the
next day it was workng perfectly - now, a month later, it still works fine.

I purchaced this dual handset phone system for my mother because she was thinking about replacing two of her old cordless phones at the same time. Last I talked to her, she was very happy with the phones, but she did mention that the extra handset seemed to have a rather short batter life. That can be rather irritating when one is trying to have an extended conversation, "Oh no! My battery is dying, let me get out of bed and run downstairs to get the other phone!" It has been about a month now since we put these phones to use and I must say these are the best ever for home use. Excellent audio and full featured. When on speakerphone the quality is exceptional even when you are unable to speak close to the receiver; also, the flat base enables you to set the phone securely so that you are free to use your hands. Had to replace our answering system at home. Have always liked the Panasonic system and found this one to be a "kicked up" version of the one we gave to a family member previously. It installed very easily, had some new features we really enjoyed. It was a great replacement system. We would definitely recommend this Panasonic product.
