I have substantial interference from some kind of EM field in my apartment. I've been through probably 10 cordless phones over the years trying to find one that would work well. Like all my past purchases of Panasonic products, this digital phone deserves no less than five stars. Most of my Panasonic items are at least ten to fifteen years in age and they perform perfectly today as the day I purchased them. The Panasonic 5.8GHZ digital was a breeze to set up as the instructions were clear and very detailed. It offers so many standard features. To mention a few: a "night" mode can be programed in which calls that come in during the slumber hour will not ring but the message, if desired, will be recorded. It has a speaker feature for hands off, volume control from soft to loud. In conclusion, my only regret is that the phone is listed under the business equipment section but I am using it as a home phone. I bought this phone off Amazon for around $30 and boy have I been impressed. I use it for conference calls and the speakerphone is clear as a bell. The reception is great anywhere in the house and it is compact and easy to use. Researched quite a few phones with answering machines and this by far was the best price with the best review.
