If I was writing a review on these phones about 18 months ago when I bought them, I would have probably given them four stars. It has great range (my husband has one of the handsets in his workshop, which is 200 feet away from our house). It has quite a nice few features, although we were disappointed when we very quickly maxed out the number of phone numbers we are allowed to store in the directory. The phone is a good weight and size and feels good in your hand. We were happy with them for about a year, until one day one of the phones, which I knew was fully charged, died without warning in the middle of a conversation. This went on for a couple of months so we figured this particular handset was bad and we threw it away with plans to replace it. Before we could replace it, another handset decided it would die at random intervals. When they die, we just put them back on the base, wait a few seconds, then they're ready to use again with full battery life, so this isn't a low-battery issue. Now we've had this set for 18 months and only one handset hasn't failed. I came onto Amazon to spend another $60-80 on another phone set. I don't know if there are any better sets out there, but this one was a definite dud.

With the Panasonic answering system, you'll never miss important calls, even when the ringer is off. The integrated light-up indicator featured at the base of the handset's antenna will flash quickly when an incoming call is in progress, and will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message. Should you choose to expand the answering system to include additional handsets, each handset can be programmed to ring or simply flash at your discretion. The system is compatible with up to three additional handsets (for a total of four).
In addition to the standard call waiting feature, this system comes with call waiting caller ID2, a feature that allows you to see who's calling you if you're already taking a call. Other great features include a 50-station shared phonebook, a handy charge indicator, a backlit LCD display, and a convenient intercom feature. Providing up to five hours of cordless talk time, the handset's rechargeable Ni-MH battery offers up to 11 days of uncharged standby battery life.
