Digital camera reviews of Panasonic DMP-BD35K 1080p Blu-ray PlayerDigital camera Review: AVOID THIS PLAYER! Summary: 2 Stars
BLUF: BUY ANOTHER PLAYER.
I got this for my wife for Xmas while I was deployed to Iraq, the systems HDMI out is not supported on my 1080P flat screen tv (Sony). I spoke to the Bluray company and they stated that it was a known flaw but they have no plans to fix the software.
Update. I have had the player for going on three months now and it is shameful how poor the player is, but also the support by the "techs". the Player resets all menu values at its own will. I hook RGB cables up to get it to function, but now I must rest the menus each time I want to run something above basic DVD. I will never buy this brand again.
Digital camera Review: AWESOME Summary: 5 Stars
Purchased as a gift after much research, this Blu-Ray player was highly rated on many sites other than Amazon. Amazon offered all three of the top rated players under $300 and also saved me by putting the necessary wire for sale on the "also purchased" link. Awesome picture and sound quality, very easy setup, has many good features, and it has enhanced our home theater system. Old DVDs picture and sound quality is improved. I highly recommend this product. Shipping was awesome. Thanks Amazon!
Digital camera Review: About to return it for a second time.... Summary: 1 Stars
I received the Panasonic DMP-BD35 player at the beginning of the month and was excited to start using it. Being in the film industry I work at HD resolution (and higher) each day- and am sure I would go crazy without good HD viewing at home. My television is a Samsung LCD 1080p, hdmi 1.3 set and has had a great performance record and when paired with HD sources looks AMAZING... and this was the case with the DMP-BD35... for the first five minutes.
Here's the problem: The screen when using the HDMI output will flash green (Flash green= looks like the television is dropping the red and blue channels and displays the green only for a few frames), and then drop the signal. At first this didn't bother me because I had lots of things I could try to fix it. First I updated the firm ware on both my television and Blu-ray player. That didn't help at all... so I got a different HDMI 1.3 cable.... and that didn't do anything either. So naturally I sent the unit back and got a replacement.... which, although more stable, will still, at times, drop the signal, or flash green. I might have said that this was an odd compatibility issue with my TV except for the performance improvement I had with the new unit. And the lack of problems I have had with other HDMI connections in the past (HD tivo, up scaling DVD, HD-DVD... etc. all work great). So, I'm about to send THIS player back TOO. It's been a frustrating month... especially since my option now is to move to the Sony... and now that the deals are over- it's going to cost me. Horrible player, do not buy.
Digital camera Review: Agree with other reviews- great Summary: 5 Stars
Played as expected based on reviews from Amazon and Cnet.com. Great product, still a bit on the expensive side
Digital camera Review: Amazing - Price is where it's at!! Summary: 5 Stars
Previous purchases of Panasonic products have shown me a company that makes great material, great remote functionality and durability that lasts. Hopping into Blue-Ray, I was apprehensive to the technology knowing full well I might have to buy films all over again, but with upconverison of standard DVD's, I had noticed the difference right away. If you have a load of DVD's as I do, get the best out of your collection on Blue-Ray. The sound is phenomenal, and on my Sony Bravia AW10 Projector the images are terrific (the images are almost 3-D in effect due to the clarity.) Blue-Ray (in the case of having theater milieu) is great for action films, but in the case of films that focus mainly on dialogue or character study, I would keep those as standard DVD's.
Cinematic Films (Blue Ray)
Dialogue/Character Studies - (Standard DVD)
If the films have both - (Go Blue Ray)
