This was my first Blue Ray player... I was concerned with the delay before playing that everyone talks about... The few seconds of delay is well worth the amazing picture. I have a Samsung 52" 1080P LCD.This Panasonic DMP-BD35K Blu-ray Disc players will play your standard DVD collection without a problem. And with built-in 1080p video upscaling, I find it hard to see the differance between it and a HD Blu-ray DVD. This feature alone is worth the money. I may never buy another Blu-ray DVD untill I rediscover all of my old standard DVD,s
Compared to Sony's Blu-ray this player is "FAST" at loading a DVD!!!

I went for this on the basis of the price, and wish I had gone for a Sony. I still have Sony stuff I bought 20 years back that works (a VCR, no less). But this stopped working 4 months after I got it.
Avoid this.

After seeing a demo of the unit in the local stores in San Diego, it definitely made an impressive 1st impression. I decided to further research the unit on the internet(CNET and others). I had to purchase the unit during the Christmas discount pricing period and got mine before Christmas for $249.
I have this DMP-BD35K hooked up to a Pioneer PRO-111FD plasma tv and a Denon AVR-2309CI receiver with KEF KHT3500SE speakers. This unit has all the features that most people will need and it delivers outstanding video and audio.
I have not encountered any problems with the unit yet. Loading times are excellent. Definitely would highly recommend this unit. You get the most value for the money.
I know that Panasonic discountinued this unit.

This Player is Excellent In Everyway. Not Much more I can Say About it. I Paid Only 189.00 Including Shipping and NO Sales Tax. It Works Perfect Even The up Conversion works great Also. I Burn My Own Movies Not Blurays Yet. Have The Program To do Blurays not The Writer. Waiting for The Price To come down even further.
