Digital camera Review: Budget BD player but full of features, futureproof.

I got this BD player as part of an Amazon money back package deal with my purchase of a Panasonic plasma HDTV. This player is surprisingly full featured and supports alot of the new features showing up in Blu Ray disks. The clarity of Blu-Ray disks is amazing at 1080p. Upconversion of standard DVDs through HDMI input into the HDTV is also excellent. I already have a large collection of standard DVD movies and I'm currently rediscovering them, upconverted to 1080p. I am convinced that in the case of animated feature films, that paying the extra for the Blu-Ray version is unnecessary with this player. Spending the extra for Blu-Rays can be focussed on visually complex features like Planet Earth etc. As far as I can see, the only feature that the BD-35K lacks (and the BD-55K has) is RCA jack 7.1 analog audio output (7.1 audio is still available on the 35K through HDMI and optical output).Digital camera Review: CNET Review well deserved.

I chose this blu-ray player based on the review I read on CNET, which spoke of one of the most inexpensive yet capable players on the market. It did not disappoint. Beautiful picture, BD-Live ready (though the people i bought it for dont even use it), and of course on board decoding of all high definition audio codecs. Bought this in 2008 after reading many glowing reviews. I have had this player for a year now and am very frustrated at its inability to play discs. It either won't read them when inserted or will freeze in mid-movie. This happens with all discs-DVDs from Netflix (not surprising), my lightly used DVDs (should definitely not happen) and even new Blu-Rays of Madagascar and Up will freeze about 75% of the time. This renders the player nearly useless. My wife hates this player and I have had times where I wanted to trash it a la Office Space.Digital camera Review: DIDNT HAVE ITEM

When I purchased this player it stated that it was in stock and would be delivered between Dec 22 and Dec 24. I sent several emails that went unanswered. It was a Christmas gift and as of the first of the year I still had not received it. I sent them another email to cancel the order and stated that if it arrived that it would be refused. I then received an email saying that the item had been discontinued. I was very upset that after waiting that long, thats the info I got 3 weeks later. Won't be back to this seller.
