Digital camera Review: Don't buy it, unless you like doing firmware upgrades that don't take

What a huge disappointment, the player reviewed well and got me to make the leap into Blu-Ray, finally. But alas, 4 hours after un-boxing it, it is all wrapped up and ready to go back to the maker.
It said "HELLO" when I plugged it in and promptly shut itself right off again. After following the instructions in the back for troubleshooting I rebooted it with an awkward key press (power on, pause and open/close) and got it to stay awake for a bit. After asking me which language I spoke it told me that it needed to go check for updated firmware. It started downloading the firmware, made it to about 50% and promptly died.
I spent the next 30 minutes or so downloading the firmware from the Panasonic website and created a CD-R with the new firmware on it. I tried for 90 minutes or so to get it to read the firmware update from the CD-R via the instructions on the website, but nothin' doin'. It never stayed on "HELLO" for more than a few seconds before shutting itself off again.
Maybe we a one off, who knows. But I've now added the Panasonic name to the shortlist (JVC is at the top..) of electronic components I'll never buy again.

Very good performance, easy setup (Viera link) works with Panasonic TV through HDMI connection.
You place a DVD in the player and TV turns "On" and switches to DVD input.
Loads Blue ray disc fast and efficiently.
Highly recommend this unit.

Very pleased with the performance. Firmware upgrade through the web was seamless. There were many positive reviews on this model and it exceeded my expectations. Cuando iba a realizar la compra de un BD, estaba analizando el Sony y el Samsung.... tenia mis reservas con la compra, pero cuando lo recibi, la calidad de imagen y sonido es insuperable... el único problema es que NO ES MULTIZONA, por lo que solo lee Zona 1 (dvd)y A(BD), por lo que poder observar títulos de cine latinoamericanos y españoles... es un poco dificil si no ha pasado por la manos de hollywood....
En cuanto al menú un tanto complicado.... en la navegación en lo que se refiere a los dvd, y los bd increíble...!!!
En cuanto a la carga de los discos... extremedamente lento... y no comprendo porque dura tanto... será por la densidad de los bd, pero igual era lento con los dvd y los cd....
