I bought this recorder after I gave up trying to get another recorder to work. This one did work just as the instruction manual prescribed. The recorder functioned as advertised. I tested various functions using several types of discs and had no problem. I could not , however, play a DVD that was created on my computer. Panasonic rep. explained that this option is not part of the specs. of the machine.
I would recommend this recorder to anyone who wants to trasfer VHS to DVD painlessly.

I bought this unit refurbished and it has worked flawlessly. I have burned about 100 hrs. of video onto DVD. The VHS rewind and ff is super fast. Great unit!
