We bought the Panasonic Dect 6.0 system with max 6 phones about a year ago. During a brown-out, the answering machine blew an internal circuit and the "answer" feature stopped working, i.e. we could still use the phone, but the machine did not pick up calls in our absence. Panasonic wanted [...] for repair. I bought this unit with phone for only $[...], and now have a spare phone to boot! All I had to do was re-link all my phones to the new base unit.
Lessons learned 1) I now have a surge protector on the base unit. Panasonic customer service didn't know if this would help in future brown-outs, but I figured it was worth a try. 2) The modularity of this system is great. Replacing the central system for [...] can't be beat.

Just got this phone, and so far it's great. VERY easy setup, nice ringtone options, excellent choice of AAA rechargables (no hunting for weird batteries down the line!). Lightweight, slim, and no protruding antenna to break when the kids drop it :)Digital camera Review: Good phone and machine

I didn't give it 5 stars because the quality of the sound from the answering machine is just ok, nothing great. But at least I get my voicemail. I will keep it because it is very compact. This guy is fabulous and quite funny. i don't watch his show that often but i very much enjoyed this book. it is NOT geared toward the younger girl, thank heavens, there are enough books for them already. It is very worthwhile reading, full of interesting hints, tips and advice.
