These phones are great! They have many bells and whistles, clear color screen, many ring tones, easy to use and sturdily built. Oh and lite up keys for night use. This phone is far better than any Ghz phone I've had. 900Mhz was actually the best as it had less interference from wireless network routers, but now, DECT is a clear winner. DECT phones work on a different frequency than other devices for the first time - which means you get a great signal without the microwave or wireless router interfering. The phones are cool looking, and have a very good battery life - I'm on conference calls almost all day and rarely have to even use the second handset.Digital camera Review: Everything I wanted!

I am a very careful shopper. In fact, before I purchased this phone, I first purchased an tried several other products which I promptly returned. I was looking for portability, clarity, and range since I have a home office and work in a variety of rooms. I first tried the Plantronics wireless headset just to find that the range in my home was not very good, partially due to the fact that the base unit sits in the basement. I favored it because of its size. But this Panasonic unis is only slightly larger with a full set of features and a great feel. This Phone has all the features that I was looking for. Its small and Lightweight. It uses a pair of Rechargeable AAA battries which is excellent. Amazingly the charge on it lasts for much longer than most of the cordless phones that I have used. Usage of Cordless phones in our house is quite a bit. Every weekend we make international calls talking to friends and family and we use the Speaker phone feature quite a bit. Excellent voice quality and clarity on the speaker phone. Mute button on the phone works great too.
The Graphical display has options that are very easy to understand. Answering machine can be operated directly from the Handset - Simply follow the menu options. You can listen to your voice messages either on the speaker of the handset or the standard way which is to put the handset against your ear.
There is also a Ringer off feature on the phone which is great since we have turned the ringer off on the second handset that came with it which we keep in our bedroom.
There have been two instances when upon answering the phone we could not hear anything the other person said nor were they able to hear anything that I said. I have another Amplifier with Headset that I use in the house (same phone line) in my office. I am not sure if that could be interfering with this handset or not? I still need to figure it out. This was the only time I had to refer to the Manual so far to figure out how to De-register the handset with the base and then re-register it. This is the only reason why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Infact I am also going to buy another one of these for my Dad.
I need to refer to the manual one more time for remote operation of the answering machine. I have not done that yet but I am sure that would be easy too.
