i can't say that I'm a cordless phone expert, but I like this one. We bought an extra phone to work with this one, and they both work well. The instructions are a little complicated. It took me a few times to figure out how to get the two phones to work together, but maybe I'm just particularly clueless when it comes to reading these kinds of directions for electronics... Anyway, it has plenty of bells and whistles, and the previous Panasonic phone we had (similar but without a caller ID screen and without any real special features) worked very well for about 6 years. We replaced it because one of the number buttons wasn't working reliably. Not bad for 6 years of use, I think. This one is prettier. :-)Digital camera Review: Nice phone!

I prefer Panasonic phones for their lack of background noise and their voice clarity. This one is no exception. It was so reasonably priced I had my doubts, but so far it's been great. Lots of nice features, and small enough to fit in my shirt or pants pocket. It's loud, I can have the voice volume all the way and still hear everyone on the other end. Very pleased.
