Digital camera reviews of Panasonic KX-TG6021M 5.8 GHz Expandable Digital Cordless PhoneDigital camera Review: Good phone so far Summary: 5 Stars
We have owned the Panasonic KX-TG6021M 5.8 GHz Expandable for about a month. I ordered it from Amazon about a month ago. So far, so good! In the past, I have found Panasonic TV's, VCR's, DVD's as very reliable.
Digital camera Review: Good phone, no belt-clip Summary: 3 Stars
The phone works great, and looks cool. The only problem is that it doesn't have a belt clip that you can put on the phone to make it easier to use with a headset. Pretty big issue for use in my home, but I can see why they didn't do it; the phone sits on the cradle face up and the belt clip would probably keep it from recharging.
But maybe if they could have designed the cradle a bit differently, it might have all worked.
If you don't care about a belt clip option and don't want an answering machine, this is a good solid cordless phone with great range.
Digital camera Review: Good value for money Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this phone to supplement an earlier model Panasonic 2.4GHz phone. Both phones are operating on separate phone lines, so it's easy to compare them.
Compared to the previous model, this one cost very much less. Unfortunately, it also feels less well built. It's bigger, has less rounded edges and is much warmer after picking it up from the charging cradle.
Other cons compared to the earlier model:
- the keypad is not lighted. this may not seem like a big deal, but if you have used the feature before, it's nice to have.
- the green LED at the top of the phone never turns off and is bright at night
- There are no speed dials. Which means, you cannot press-and-hold digits 1-9 to dial a preset number. This one was a disappointment.
- There is no way to turn off the handset. With the earlier Panasonic, you could press-and-hold the power button to turn off the handset. When going on vacation, I usually turn off the power strip to all the phone and charging gadgets. This means having to take out the battery on the receiver so that we didn't return home to a flat battery.
I live in a region that uses 230V instead of 110V. I had a spare 9V universal power supply that I used initially. However, there was a strong buzzing signal that was clearly audible both at my end and also the recipient. It was hard to track it down to the power supply. Turns out that the phone is senstive to a switching supply. When I changed to a transformer based adaptor, the sound signal was ok.
I would buy the phone again, simply for it's good value.
It has the usual clear Pansonic cordless sound quality.
Digital camera Review: Good with bugs Summary: 3 Stars
The good: excellent sound quality, easy to use and program.
The bugs: time and date keep changing. Phone locks up and will only work again after removing battery and reinserting. After removing, sometimes have to reenter personal phone book.
This is my second phone, first returned within 30 days for replacement, no questions asked.
For me the excellent sound quality overrides the bugs for now.
Digital camera Review: Good, simple phone Summary: 5 Stars
This is a really nice, simple phone. It's small, so doesn't take up too much space on desktop. It has caller id, call waiting button, and a good speakerphone. The battery lasts an amazingly long time off the charger. I didn't use it much, and it lasted over a week.
