Digital camera Review: Drops calls all the time. Panasonic's advice doesnt help.

Despite the fact that I'm loving the Talking Caller ID, which I think is not available elsewhere, I've been struggling terribly with these highly rated phones for a few months, with all the handsets dropping calls regularly, despite being fully charged.
I called Customer Service who told me how to reset the phones- remove batteries, unplug, and then put back batteries and plug in. It didnt help at all. Im hoping Im the only one with this problem. Its so annoying to have to look for another handset and call the person back mid-conversation!!! Im back to my old phone that works fine, which proves it's not a service provider problem.

I've always bought Panasonic cordless phones in the past, and this purchase initially started off the same as any other, taking everything out of the box I thought how well they're made, they look/feel great, etc.. But after the initial charge, I was really let down the first time I had a conversation with them on a regular call (NOT on speakerphone). When you speak into the mouthpiece, these phones pipe your voice directly to the ear-speaker as well as to the other caller, it feels like you're always interrupting someone, except that the voice coming in your ear is your own! And your voice is considerably louder than the incoming caller, which only increases that feeling. VERY ANNOYING! I tried every handset, all of them worked exactly that way, the only way to eliminate the problem is to turn down the handset speaker volume two increments from high, but then of course you can't hear the other caller when THEY speak...my wife also has the same opinion of these phones, not at all like our previous panasonics. We aren't yelling into the phone or even "loud talkers", we're using regular "indoor-voice" levels here.
I returned the first set, but the second set worked exactly the same. It's a real shame too because the reception was fine, the range was fine, the speakerphone worked GREAT, no complaints whatsoever except for the way they designed the handset speaker to 'repeat' everything being spoken into the mic. I've used panasonics for years and never had a complaint with their product, I'm really surprised, but I returned the second set as well, I can't stand the way those speakers duplicate your voice on the handset. This time they lost me, I'm going to have to go with another brand it seems.

I love the phone and the features. Especially the talking caller id and talking alarm clock (reminds me when to pick up the kids). I did a lot of research and there is no phone better than this. Love Panasonic products. They never let me down.
