Digital camera reviews of Panasonic KX-TG9344T Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone with Answering System, Metallic Black, 4 HandsetsDigital camera Review: All the features I wanted Summary: 5 Stars
Clear reception over a long distance. I have walked around outside the house for some distance and have yet to drop a call. The scheduled "silence the ringer at night" feature is great. I don't have to remember to turn it off every night and back on in the morning.
I also love the way the phonebook is shared by all the phones. You don't have to enter numbers into each handset.
The handsets also use standard rechargable batteries that can be purchased anywhere if needed. When the batteries died on my old phone, it would have cost me more to replace them than it did to buy this new phone.
My only complaint is that I need to check the instruction manual to make adjustments in the settings, but I guess this is to be expected in a phone with so many features. The manual is clear and easy to understand.
Digital camera Review: Amazing Value But Poor Talk Time Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this to replace another Panasonic wireless phone system (5.8Ghz) when one of the three handsets died. I checked the price of a single handset for that system, and it was twice the price of an entire four phone DECT 6.0 Panasonic system, so bought the KX-TG9344T system: four phones and a base station that you can use, so a total of five communication devices.
The phones are light-weight and have great displays. The sound quality is very good. Better than my 5.8Ghz system. There isn't an amazing amount of features, but that's something I don't need. My phone service (AT&T U-Verse) includes not only an answering machine, but an amazing feature set, so many of the phone features I don't and won't use. My prior phone system had the talking caller ID, which I LOVED, and the new system has it also. In my case, I'm usually working on something, frequently covered in dirt or grease, and its really handy to be able to HEAR who is calling before you decide to pick-up the handset. The new phone's buttons are rubber-covered and feel very good. The menus are intuitive.
The big flaw is the talk time. I don't get even two hours of talk time, and I am frequently on multi-hour conference calls, forcing me to have two charged hand-sets available: one for the first 75 minutes, and then switch to the other before it spontaneously drops me from the call. The battery strength meter is almost useless and does not warn you when it is running low, it just dies. All the handsets do the same thing, so I don't think its a bad battery.
Digital camera Review: An Excellent Phone... but It does not come with a Wall Mount !! Summary: 5 Stars
The phone is a great purchase for anyone wanting to avoid interference with their WiFi Network. The handsets are nice and small and Panasonic has always made excellent phones.
What I cannot believe is this thing does not even come with a Wall Mount. This phone is over 100.00 and the Wall Mount Part is an extra 1.79. What gets me is the pain and torture a person has to go through to get one. The shipping is 5.95 to have it shipped. It costs more for shipping than the part. This should have been included. With the reputation and quality of Panasonic, they should not be cutting corners. The part is also on backorder for 3 - 4 weeks. Thumbs down for this...
Putting this aside, the phone works really well and does the job.
Digital camera Review: An excellent product at a reasonable price Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this phone set for my parents, who live in a 5000 square foot house in the suburbs. The phones replace a hodgepodge of older phones, which were fading. The new phones have clear voices, they don't interfere with each other or with other appliances. The answering machine works very well. I have two complaints preventing me from providing a 5 star review, and it is probably because I haven't read the manual yet. The first complaint is that the answering machine picks up before the fax machine (on the same line) recognizes that a fax is coming in, and will pick up. I have used a short term solution of turning off the answering machine before I am expecting a fax, but a better solution would be for the fax machine to recognize a fax is coming in. The second complaint, more trivial, is that the voice caller-id is useless. It pronounces all but the most trivial names quite poorly. Regardless, this has been an excellent replacement. Hopefully, it will last as long as our previous Panasonic phones.
Digital camera Review: Announcement Feature is a let down Summary: 4 Stars
The verbal announcment feature of this phone was a big disappointment. Reading up on this product, some bloggers did mention this was an issue but I didn't realize just how bad. As an example the name Michelle is pronounced "Mitchell" and Dawn is pronounced Da-whan!! A previous phone we had from Panosonic allowed us to record our voice over the machine voice - that was the best and I was hoping this one had it too, but no such luck. Otherwise, its an OK set up - nothing special though.
