I'm very satisfied with this simple to use but also very powerful camera. I highly recomend it for everyone who expects a great optical quality and userfriendly interfaces.
Digital camera Review: Excellent camera for the price! Summary: 5 Stars
I ordered this camera as an everyday point and shoot camera, so I wouldn't have to carry around my DSLR. I haven't used it a whole lot, but, for the times I have used it....you can't beat the OPTICAL zoom. The steady shot works well too. Well worth the money....and believe me...I research cameras for awhile before I purchase.
Digital camera Review: Excellent camera! Highly Recommended! Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this last week and the quality of the photos are excellent! The videos are really good as well! No complaints so far. This is perfect for point-and-shoot folks but then the camera features a whole a lot more if you want to get creative. Just be careful in buying SD cards larger than 2Gb, but just make sure the SD card has 'SDHC' stamped on it. I made the mistake of buying a regular 4Gb SD card and it did not work on the camera. Good thing the SD card worked on my Nikon D50. Live and learn!
Digital camera Review: Excellent for the price Summary: 5 Stars
While this camera can't compare to a high end digital SLR, it's a great camera for the price. A 12x zoom lense, RAW capture mode, and wide selection of manual and automatic modes make this camera very flexible. You can set the ISO (low light sensitivity) for this camera, can run in full auto, full manual, aperture priority, shutter priority, plus an assortment of "scene" modes that let you optimize for different conditions. There's also an "easy" mode for photographers that don't want to mess with all those settings.
Image quality is very good, as long as I stick to the lower ISO settings; especially at the ISO 100 setting, the resultant images are very clean and detailed. As it true with any camera that uses a small imaging sensor, low light performance is somewhat limited -- but that's not a problem that is limited to this camera, since virtually all of the competing cameras in this price range use similar sized sensors.
One other notable feature is the speed of this camera. If you've only previously used "point and shoot" digital camera, you'll be amazed at how fast this camera takes a picture when you press the shutter button. If you halfway depress the shutter button first (which engages the autofocus and autoexposure), depressing the button the rest of the way will give you virtually instantaneous pictures -- the wait is so short I can't distinguish it. Even if you don't engage the auto functions first, this camera is still fast, with a delay of under a second.
Digital camera Review: Excellent low cost alternative to SLR Summary: 5 Stars
I had Canon ELPH before. It's compact and good for outdoors. But the indoor pictures were not bright. But with this Lumix, I get perfect pictures everywhere. I love it. Also it's very light.
