Digital camera Review: Almost Perfect

I bought this camera because the specs listed @ 85% of what I want in an *instant* camera. I need to be able to whip it out and take pictures, and I'd like to be able to give it to my wife and just say "here". For the price, the 7.1 megapixel rating is good, the zoom is good, and the availability of cards and batteries are excellent. BTW, my previous pocket sized "point and shoot" cameras have been a Nikon EM and a Zeiss Nettar; I needed something I could have "instant" pictures with.
ANYway, the camera is very good. The pictures are great quality, and it's very easy to use. There are a lot of menu choices, of which most are similar to the others and you may use maybe three of them. I/we did like the "easy" mode on the selector button, and we think the heart shape icon for it is cute.
CON: it's a slightly awkward shape, but we're getting used to it.
The BAD: It eats batteries at a surprising rate. A very disconcerting rate. It takes two AAs to run it, and you'll need at least six to eight 2500s to fill a 1gb card. And plugging it into the USB port does not mean you're working from the computer's power. A "quarter tank" left isn't enough to download the pictures into the PC.
Other than the battery issue, we really like the camera.

I bought this camera to take on trips, and for some general photography. I was aware of the bulk, and decided the zoom was an acceptable trade-off. What I was not prepared for, however, was the insane time between pictures, 20+ seconds. I initially thought it might be the batteries, changed those. Then I thought the flash, so tried some outdoor photos, same problem. Then I tried a different SDHC card, I had the low-end Sandisk 4GB card that is rated as too slow for this camera. I upgraded to a fast Sandisk SDHC card, it's double the requirement listed in the camera manual. The camera still experiences 20+ seconds between taking one picture and being ready for the next. Unless you plan to take pictures of buildings exclusively, plan on missing many opportunities while you wait for this camera...Digital camera Review: Awesome camera!

This is a great camera, the pictures I've taken look incredible. It's a little heavy, but it doesn't seem as fragile as other cameras. The only bad thing is that it doesn't have audio, so I can't hear the videos, but I always tranfer them to my pc so that's not a problem.Digital camera Review: Best Buy at Best Price!

Have had this camera for six months now. It's my first digital but have had many SLRs since my first one in 1957. It was a bit confusing initially, but careful review of user's guide while handling the camera mademe comfortable within a few hours. The features are swell...particularly the backlighting and image stabilization feature that eliminates hand-shaking! Couldn't have asked for more at the LOW price I finally paid. BUT, I did days of searches and price comparison to finally make my decision! I enjoyed all that I learned during that process and am very pleased with the camera and the photos I've taken.

Wow!!
For the price you probably won't find a better choice of digital
cameras with these features and quality. The video and sound performance
is just as impressive as the still pictures!
The Lumix series from Panasonic has matured to 7.2 Million Pixels
from it's original debut a few years back. I'm sure Panasonic will
continue to refine an already exceptional camera in the Lumix series
to come. It's no wonder the resale prices of this baby is near
(and in some cases above) original retail.
The only downside small as it may be is the included software. A little
tricky to figure out but manageable to navigate through if your
the patient type.
Overall one of the best (of MANY I've tested) out there.
You can get a Sony with some of the same features of equal quality and
stamina but it will cost you WAY more.
