Digital camera reviews of Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4K 8.1MP Digital Camera with 10x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black)Digital camera Review: I'm enjoying my new camera Summary: 4 Stars
So far I am enjoying my new camera. I am still learning all the special features and noticing some things that I am doing wrong. For instance, taking pics of my daughter at her 8th grade awards night - the stage wasn't well lit and when I used the zoom the pics were a bit grainier than I wanted - but I know that's errors on my part. I think you really gotta play with the settings to get great pics - you gotta know what settings to use at different events (I'm trying!)
Overall - I really like the camera. Clear pictures, easy to use, love the battery thingee! I'm enjoying it!

Digital camera Review: Knockout! Summary: 5 Stars
For me this is a perfect camera. The length of the zoom coupled with he wide angle put it in a class of it's own. When I bought it I didn't know it even had video, but that's incredible, too. The battery lasts a long time-- a few days of vacation-intensity picture taking between charges-- unless you are the type who has to review and monkey around with every shot. The video mode also uses up a good bit of battery, so buy an extra if you are going to do a lot of that. I don't know how well the pre-set "scene modes" really work, but they are easy to access and offer a big variety. You probably want a 2-4GB card as well. On a 3 week vacation I filled up a 1 and 2 GB card. When I dump the pictures into my computer I find that they generally are a tiny bit over exposed-- I adjust that and generally "warm them up", as well as add a bit of saturation in the editing program. That's not to say that the pictures aren't acceptable if you just take them to a developer, but a little tweaking is nice (and easy). One thing-- Don't Drop It!! I dropped mine and slightly dented the lens enclosure. The camera still tried, but the lens wouldn't open. Panasonic charges $110 for service, plus parts, (which they were reluctant to quote,) but indicated that a new lens would be at least $100, so it was cheaper to just buy another camera sans case/memory card etc, which I quickly did.
