Digital camera reviews of Panasonic RP-HC500 Noise-Canceling Headphones

Digital camera Review: Does what it's supposed to do.
Summary: 5 Stars

These headphones really work well in an aircraft. The difference is like night and day, with no need for music to be playing either. I never could fall asleep due to the noise but am able to do so now simply because it's much quieter. They also work reasonably well at home with noises that are constant droning sounds such as fans, mower engines, etc. They don't do squat for instantaneous noise sources such as people yelling, screaming, laughing, horns honking, that sort of thing. Know what these can do before plopping down the dough. Comfort is above average and I got a big head. I do wear glasses so there is a bit of pain due to the glasses arms being applied pressure by the earphones portion but that only comes into play after an hour or so.

Digital camera Review: Don't Buy It... Read Why.

The headphones were good, but mine died after 6 months. Since the product only has a 90-Day warranty, I can't get them repaired or get the money back. My new headphones will not be by Panasonic.

Digital camera Review: Don't understand the negatives
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased these 2 years ago and have flown with them at least 20 times. For sitting on an aircraft (which they are designed for) I couldn't ask for anything better. I suppose if you use them actively, the life span will shorten but these were made for flying and I will not part with them.

Digital camera Review: Earphones were defective upon arrival
Summary: 1 Stars

The first day I used these earphones in my house attached to the speaker control of my computer speakers they sounded good until I turned on the noise canceling button. Every time I touched the exterior of the right ear phone with noise cancellation on I would get a loud squeak in my ear. At first I thought it was the swivel on the earphone where they connect to the headset. I determined that it was an loud electonic squeak in the right earphone and a slight squeak in the left earphone when the exterior of the earphones were touched. I am disappointed. I am returning them for a refund. I will buy a different brand.

Digital camera Review: Enter your own little world
Summary: 5 Stars

I love these headphones. I work about 100 yards from the runway on a busy airfield. I hate constantly hearing airplanes. These headphones make the planes go away. I'm so close that the planes will vibrate my internal organs on take-off, but I can't hear them. I instantly became a happier person with this purchase. I've experienced the Bose noise-canceling headphones as well. I won't knock them, they are beautiful, but they're expensive. These even come with a battery and an adapter jack for plugging them into a stereo or a guitar. These can cancel the noise from an F-16's afterburners. Enough said.
