Digital camera Review: GREAT BUY!
Summary: 5 Stars

I really loved these headphones! They have good bass for all of you who like hip hop, but for all of you who like classic music you will get a real clear sound. It doesn't stop there they are so comfortable it's like a pillow on your ears. I also thought they had a good length of cord so you don't have to be all scrunched close to your stereo or cd player. All in all these are great headphones for a great price

Digital camera Review: Great sound
Summary: 4 Stars

These headphone have great sound at a good price. I've had them for abouth 12 months now and have run into any problems with them. They are VERY comfortable and look real sweeat. The coard is long a bit too long for my taste.

Digital camera Review: Great sound and comfort, poor sound blockage
Summary: 3 Stars

When I first got these out of the box I tried them on and plugged them into the stereo and promptly decided they're the best thing since sliced bread. However, after farther use I realized their single flaw... they let every single sound through. I've read that they may have been designed this way on purpose to avoid the effect that it sounds like you're in a tin-can and to avoid pressure problems with the bass when you have a tight seal with your ear. In this case I would strongly recommend them to anyone who will always be listening in a quiet place or wants to hear their surroundings, but they don't cut it for use in a car/bus, or if you're trying to block out surrounding noise as I usually am.

Digital camera Review: Highly acceptable.
Summary: 4 Stars

The radio station's Koss TD-80's felt tight and heavy, and the comparably priced Radio Shack pair I purchased were so loose I didn't feel like I was wearing them. This Panasonic pair is--for me, at least--the charm. Soft, light, compact, secure but not tight. Of course, headphone decisions appear to be highly subjective. For me, it starts with comfort. As for the sound, I'd say that Panasonic's descriptive term, "Basic," is excessively modest. The sound is more live and present, along with providing brighter treble and less boomy bass, than the Radio Shack's. Perhaps the Koss phones have a very slight edge in bass "definition," but the comfort and convenience, along with the greater sensitivity of the Panasonic pair, make them a clear winner. As for the "amount" of bass, I find them so responsive that I'm turning off the XBS on my cassette deck. But then I'm listening for accurate reproduction of the acoustic bass rather than seeking some sort of extra-musical, sub-sonic thrill.

My only "complaints": It's too much cord for my purposes. A coiled version would have been more practical. Also, unlike other reviewers, I find the Panasonic's sealing out too much, rather than too little, outside sound. If you're old-fashioned enough to regard "live music" as the standard of reference, you'll realize that under ideal listening circumstances the listener is never hermetically sealed off from all surrounding sound.
