Digital camera reviews of Panasonic SL-PH270 Portable CD Player with 40-Second Anti-Shock and Built-In SpeakersDigital camera Review: Very Good CD Player Summary: 5 Stars
This is a VERY GOOD CD Player!! I have enjoyed this CD Player very much. I have taken it everywhere I've went. The speaker sound is very good and sound quality is outstanding. I would highly recommend that you buy this! But...there is a very very very low ringing noise...but if you are listening to the music (at any volume)you can't hear it at all. DEFINATELY BUY!!
Digital camera Review: Very cool....BUT.... Summary: 4 Stars
First off, the nice/great things about this player: 1)...You'll buy this for the speakers, and rightly so..they're great. It has the standard sound dial from 0 to 10..and I play it around 5-6 in my place, 8-9 outside (and it works great even in a downtown enviro, too..you CAN easliy hear it.) They're only a bit 'tinny'..the cabinet speakers have no bass boost, but that's because they're so small. Really, you don't need it. (NOTE...when using headphones you CAN have a bass boost and a 'Train' setting..a more muted version of bass boost. Just not when using the built-ins.) 2)... The player size/design...very cool. I prefer the LCD display on top like this, for easier read of the track & sound features. Button layout is nice and easily memorizable. 3)...Has an energy saver feature where you can make the batteries last longer...very noticable! 4)...40 Sec reader/skip protection...this player WILL NOT SKIP. 1). Even if you press the 'hold' switch, the player can still open. That's no good to me. Same with the speaker/headphone switch. Using this player with headphones in a public area, be acareful not to bump into that button and switch the speakers on..that's embarrassing. 2.) No 'Groove' sound equalizer like on most Sony machines. 'Groove' is by far the coolest sound system, next to the older Sony player, the turtle-esque D-844K.(It had SURROUND SOUND..on a Discman! ) 3.) Display DOES NOT LIGHT UP, even with ac pack used. That sucks frog butt. 4.) The worst thing about the player...in a quiet place, using either any headphones (I prefer Sony's 'street style' silver wraparounds), or the built in speakers, you can hear a VERY annoying whine, like from a TV set. (You can hear it when the player's set to a lower volume setting easier than a louder one.) Using this player to fall assleep with may be nervewracking because of this. You can clearly hear it with the built-ins. Outside, or in a more 'active' area other than a quiet room this 'whine' is next to non-existent, however.
Digital camera Review: WOW! A very rewarding purchase! Summary: 5 Stars
I can not express how happy I am with the purchase of this CD player. I purchased it with much skepticism due to the fact that there was no picture or any reviews for it. I could not resist built in speakers. As I received it, the speakers are actually fairly high quality and the sound quality is great. The headphones are comfortable and they produce great sound as well. The bass boost has two levels, both are very high quality and do not cause distortion at any volume level, even when I plugged in my headphone amplifier. I definitely must say that this CD player is everything I could ask for until the next generation of MP3 CD players arrive.
Digital camera Review: Where have these gone (a.k.a. Desert Island nicety) Summary: 5 Stars
call me crazy and yes i know it is 2009. i got this player when i was in college --- i travelled back and forth a lot and basically was all over the world at the time -with this little gem. it survived Semester At Sea and and whole lot of other travels. (SAS aside, imagine if you were on Oceanic 815...)
i liked the idea that i was not tethered to the headphones all the time and did not have to use up valuable travel pack space for those little mini speakers since hey --- hello built ins. having the ability to use either the dc power or the batteries was a big plus
sadly, my player has played its last :( ouch (it has been living its golden years visiting our patio or sitting on the nightstand playing audio books on cd LOL yeap anyway
would like to find something this handy again :)
p.s. i have the usual tech toys iPod,iPhone, etc but sometimes (how about blackouts in horrible weather with the techie toys not fully charged) this unit was nice working off the regular batteries
oh well
should anyone see this and knows of something comparable for the desert island boat crash scenario - please :)
Digital camera Review: bass isn't everything Summary: 5 Stars
i was very happy with this purchase...its a great cd player with lots of cool stuff...i love the train option for when im on the bus or in a car (with people who get really anoyed when people have thier disc man turned up to loud) because it makes it sound a whole lot quieter to them with out chnging the volume for you. and the speakers have very good sound...it may not have very much bass, but it has very high quality sound...some other good features it has is the auto power shut off so it doesent waste your battries...it also has an anti shock of 40 seconds, and beleive me you dont need any more than that! this thing will just not skip!!! it also has a very long battry life so you can keep listning for a long time and not go through alot of battries. so all in all this is a very impresive cd player.. i would recomend it to every one out there looking for a great portable cd player at a great price (right now you can get it for like ... bucks!!! canadian!!! origanal ...$)
