Digital camera Review: Digital Artist's Tool
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are at all serious about digital illustration, photo editing, or web design, then this product is for you.

Digital camera Review: Disappointed
Summary: 1 Stars

I received my huey earlier this week, installed the software, and ran a calibration on my iMac G5 (OS 10.4). The screen turned pinkish. I ran the calibration MANY times and every time got the same result. After a couple of hours, I put everything back in the box and sent it back for a refund.

Digital camera Review: Distorts images.
Summary: 1 Stars

I have the Pantone Huey and I recently installed it because I purchase a Samsung SynchMaster 2233 for my Mac. I couldn't get the settings just right on the Samsung and I needed something to help me out for all the photos I take. I tried this product and followed all the steps perfectly. I tested it out with a few of my photos like a before and after. The pictures appeared to be darker in many instances almost to the point where you couldn't see them. So pictures also seemed distorted, like certain materials turned out to be blotchy. I didn't like it and returned back to the custom configuration that I figured out. I wouldn't get Pantone. There are better companies out there, or just play with it your self in advance mode.

Digital camera Review: Does the job for me
Summary: 4 Stars

I use my computer for a lot of photography. I have an analog View Sonic 17" LCD screen. Since I was receiving print results from an online print service where the contrast and colors were different than what I had expected I purchased this affordable product. I found it very easy to set up on my PC taking up a USB port. After installing the software, you are prompted to calibrate the device with the monitor which takes about 5 minutes. There after the device sits in its cradle near your monitor measuring the ambient light every minute or an interval you can select to readjust the screen. After two weeks the software will prompt you to recalibrate. I've owned the product for nearly three months and I've been satisfied. It didn't screw up my monitor as I've heard about with other products. I have it set for Webbrowsing-Photo editing but you can set it for games. Quite honestly I have only tried it with one game and that it Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 and sometimes the contrast and colors are off (hence the 4 stars only.) Overall for my photo editing, it is a great little product at an affordable price.

Digital camera Review: Does the job, but has a major issue!
Summary: 2 Stars

I have been using one of these now for several years and there is one issue I have encountered repeatedly.

It can be difficult to get the sensor to stay stuck to your screen during calibration. About 1/2 the time it falls off before calibration has completed. This seems to be true regardless of how the monitor/unit has been cleaned, the temperature or humidity. To make matters worse I believe the repeated pressing of the sensor trying to get it to stay stuck has damaged my $800 monitor.

I cannot prove the above but I now have what can only be described as ghosting lines EXACTLY where the sensor is attached during calibration. These distorting lines cannot be removed no matter what troubleshooting steps I perform. Now when I perform photo retouching work I am required to look off center or scroll to move the portion to be edited out of the center!

For the above reason I will never buy a calibrator again that depends on tiny suction cups for sensor adherence to the screen.
