This is by far my favorite case for Kindle. I take my Kindle with me to work everyday and use it on the weekends as well. And this case provides some protection from the drops and bumps and also stops water damage (to a degree). But it has some padding to protect the edges, it holds it in place and has an inner pocket to put a light and when I travel I even carry my plane tickets etc in it.Digital camera Review: Best case ever

i looked at different cases for my kindle 2 i was going to buy the amazon brand case but then i found this. the amazon brand case doesn't protect your kindle at all. this case is light and protective. this is the perfect case for the kindle. even thought it is more expensive it is well worth over $60.Digital camera Review: Better products for your money

I bought this case to protect my Kindle during traveling outdoors, while flying and any other time it could potentially be damaged from rough environments. The zipper sticks and takes both hands to operate. The kindle fits into four little elastic bands that were created to hold it in. The bands are loose and the kindle will fall out if you are not extremely careful, while you are sitting stationary reading. I have no idea what the functionality of the loose gray nylon strap is on the front and back. It appears someone made an attempt to make some sort of carry handle, but in reality it is just awkward and gets in the way. The slot for storing your USB cable and plug-in attachment face the screen so if too much pressure were applied it could damage the kindle screen. The only saving grace is that it is padded on both sides and the zipper should keep most debris from getting into the kindle. I am completely disappointed by this product especially coming from a company like Patagonia. I would have returned it, but ran out of time prior to my current deployment. I looked at this and thought the price was very high. You can get a case at Target for the notebooks that are about the same size as the kindle for $14. I'm sure this is fine but why the high cost. Save your money.Digital camera Review: Can be improved

John has the hardcover and I have the Patagonia cover (wife) -- I do like it but I also see problems. If josseled (disturbed) it can slip from the elastic four corners. I am concerned that this small corner "holding" is not without problems. I think an additional small strap across the bottom of the screen might solve the secure problem (velcro type)- or another solution.
