Digital camera Review: Great idea, bad materials

After purchasing and mounting a new LCD TV, I wanted to hide the cables behind the wall and this seemed like the best option for the best price ($10 each). After ordering two and receiving them as expected, I proceeded to fish the wires through the walls and hook everything up. I plugged in the TV, and everything seemed great. A week later I wanted to install an electrical outlet behind the tv, so I unplugged the cables and removed the tv from the mount. When I did, I heard one of the HDMI cables fall inside the wall. Puzzled, I started looking around and noticed that one of the jacks had somehow become disconnected, and I could see an opening where the lower HDMI jack was previously. After taking the outlet cover off, I found that the plastic had basically crumbled, with the only culprit being the simple weight of the cables inside the wall. In looking further, I discovered the "connectors" that allow you to basically connect two cables (one inside the wall, and one outside the wall) were attached to the wall plate with what appears to be sunglass screws. Additionally the plastic that the screws were secured with was so soft that all four connection points had crumbled and failed. Because I didn't have time to order another style and wait, I was forced to wire it together by drilling holes and twisting paperclips together, thinking that since it was behind the TV it wouldn't matter if it looked dreadful. I'm not sure if the $30 hardware store versions are higher quality, but this one at about $10 was made very cheaply. Maybe if its pre-construction and the HDMI cables were secured inside the wall somehow first it might work better, but I would be VERY careful trying to install these in existing construction like I did.
