Digital camera reviews of Philips 19PFL5422D 19-Inch LCD HDTV

Digital camera Review: Great design, but...
Summary: 1 Stars

The sound quality on this is awful, a constant hum/buzz... sent the first one back for a replacement. Received the second one, same problem, however not as annoying. Difficult to adjust the picture quality in low light. Sent this one back as well.

Digital camera Review: Philips 19PFL5422D 19" LCD HDTV
Summary: 3 Stars

Philips TV has excellent picture in analog, digital, and HD. Remote is fairly easy to use. The only downside I found is that you can't manually tune channels. The only way is through auto channel tuning at setup.I have a Sony HDTV and an LG DVD recorder and can tune them manually. This becomes important if your cable supplier changes channels frequently (Comcast does) or if you are trying to receive channels through an antenna. In this case, some over-the air channels do not broadcast 24/7 and if you pick the wrong time to autotune you are not going to have them stored.

Digital camera Review: What's up with the "ghosting" bleed through?
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this based upon other user reviews, but I guess I should have paid more attention to the "ghosting" issues that some people noticed. If it had just been a slight annoyance it wouldn't have been too bad, but this was pretty obvious, especially when the lights were off in the room. In a dark room it made the picture quality sub-par at best. I used good cables for my connections, but it did not solve the problem. It is sad to say that my old Toshiba 13" TV/DVD combo had better picture quality than this Philips.

The white light bleeding onto the screen was so bad that the black bars from the widescreen movie were actually gray. I realize you get what you pay for, but for $400, I would expect a bit better quality. It was very disappointing.

If you are going to use this in a brighter room, than this would be a pretty good TV, but if you have it in a bedroom it may not work as well. I would like to find a decent 19-20" LCD widescreen TV, but it appears I will have to go to a 23-26" model which is really too big for my space.

Digital camera Review: great tv for prize and size
Summary: 4 Stars

I love this tv. The sound is great and the picture is beautiful. It was easy to set up. Make sure to purchase an HDMI cable to hook it up to your hdtv cable box.

Digital camera Review: Above Avarage
Summary: 4 Stars

Rather Then bogging you down with conversational points I'll try and list the facts of this HDTV.

Video: The Video is excellent, Although with a 8ms you can see a slight blur while gaming. I noticed this while playing on a low def PS2 game. The only other complaint is the slight white hue around the screen. It's a bit distracting but nothing too serious.

Audio: The speakers with the set are generally good, for the size they're a bit above average. I hooked up some external speakers and that problem was easily solved.

Design: The TV looks great, hands down. But i did have some trouble with the Connection Ports facing downward, it can be a hassle to plug in your DVD player for the first time. But this is nothing too terrible.

Overall:

In retrospect I'm very happy with this purchase, It's worth the price. And overall an amazing HDTV.

Pros: Great video,Decent Sound,Good Design,Easy Install.
Cons: White backlight Hue, Awkward placement of connections, Slight Blur.
