Digital camera Review: Excellent photo frame

I originally purchased a Coby 7 inch frame which broke on us (see my other reviews) and so I replaced it with the Philips 5.6inch 6FF3PB. Wow - what a frame!
Firstly and most importantly the picture quality is excellent - vibrant and bright and since the frame is 4:3 the pictures fill it without black bars or need to stretch out the photo. The transitions are wonderful with the photos blending with each other in random ways perfectly (the Coby frame would transition to black and then transition to the next photo ugh). The unit has a calandar, alarm clock, timer and so on and you can set the duration of the photo display anyway from 1 second to many days. I read in another review that the clock is onscreen and cannot be disabled. This is incorrect and a quick whiz through the easy-to-navigate menus yields the 'clock off' option.
Most impressive of all though is it has a mercury switch in it and therefore knows whether you have orientated the unit portrait or landscape and AUTOMATICALLY rotates the picture instantly merely by rotating the unit... like an iPhone!
The frame depth itself is tiny, much smaller then any other photo frame I've come across and it's near normal frame thickness. So wall mounting it is a definite possibility.
Couple of things to keep in mind - firstly the supplied manual is woefully inadequate, although they also supply a manual on CD which may be more in depth - I didn't look at it. Secondly, the unit cannot be hooked to a PC (the larger frame versions can), so you'll need a card reader to upload pictures to a SD card. The unit does take a USB flash drive if you'd prefer but it sticks out of the side and is visible.
All in all can't be beaten for the price.
