Digital camera Review: 2 failures in less than a year

We bought this unit to use in our daughters room. We use it specifically for the CD player to "sing" her to sleep at night. The first one we had died after about 4 months of use. Putting any CD in it resulted in it saying no disc. Philips replaced it at the cost of shipping which wasn't too bad, but now our second one has met with the same fate after another 4 months.
I have no idea what the cause is other than poor quality components. My wife has a philips CD clock radio (earlier model) that is more than 6 years old. She uses it every night before bed and it is humming along just fine.
I wouldn't recommend this model. Until you see a change in model number I would assume that the same poor QC has gone into all of them.

my husband saw this clock radio during one of his business trip in a 5 star hotel and thought it was good piece, that why I bought it. when it arrived, no malfunction, no tricky steps, a good and easy to operate clock radio with CD, numbers were very big and not too bright, the sound was o.k. for it's price. just as I expected.Digital camera Review: valchrispt

i'm not sure if the CD player part held up since I rarely used it but the speakers lost their volume after a year. I'm at about 20% volume and I'm not sure if the rubber band slipped from the dial control inside or if it's broken. I may give it a go and open it up to adjust it..
Looks nice but will confirm that it's crap.

Bought this for our baby's room so we could pay CD's when he goes to sleep. The CD play stopped working after 11 months. I made sure it was not the CD itself and it wasn't. Also put a few different CD's in and the unit just spins and starts to play for about 5 seconds than the CD just stops.
I would not recommend this since it cost so much. If you really want a CD, go to BigLots and buy something from there 1/2 the price.
