Digital camera reviews of Philips AJ3910 CD Clock RadioDigital camera Review: Poorly engineered product Summary: 1 Stars
I rarely write reviews, but this product is so bad I felt I had to warn others away from it. Here are the problems I have had:
1. The unit has a hard time recognizing standard CDs. I have to power down and up several times to get it to recognize a disk. CD compartment is clean, and I have never touched the lens. It's a good thing I don't use this as an alarm.
2. The clock runs obnoxiously fast. I have to constantly reset the time. It has drifted eight minutes forward over a month on several occasions. I still cannot spot a cause.
3. The sound is average, at best, and annoyingly tinny most of the time.
4. At times the control buttons have become unresponsive.
5. Radio tuning is quite difficult, even though I live in an area with strong signals.
As a person working in a technical field, I cannot forgive the poor engineering of this product. I will be recycling it as soon as I buy a replacement.
Digital camera Review: Returned item Summary: 2 Stars
Might have kept this item, but the LCD was so bright it interferred with my sleep. there's no adjustment for brightness.
Digital camera Review: Terrible Customer Service-Poor Quality Summary: 1 Stars
I received a similar clock radio as a gift (model AJ3980/37). The CD player didnt work but the radio and alarm did function okay. Customer service is a nightmare to work with. After hours of hold time and talking with uncooperative customer service agents, and after getting my sister from 3 states away to fax them the Amazon receipt, they still didnt want to help me. Finally after asking to talk with a supervisor they agreed to replace it, but only if we paid for shipping! After learning from other reviews that the CD players on these radios have loud mechanical noises and often fail, we are not sure if it is worth sending it in for replacement. We would rate it at 0 stars if 0 stars was an option.
We will never purchase another Philips product again and advise others to do the same.
Digital camera Review: Total junk... CD player broke after 4 months, radio drifts Summary: 1 Stars
Beware: this clock radio is JUNK. The CD player stopped working after about 4 months, used just once daily to play bedtime music for our baby. The radio doesn't have digital PLL tuning, rather it uses a cheap analog tuning dial... that way you can feel like you're back in the 1970s. It even drifts off the station periodically and requires you to fine tune it again. As others have said, the sound from this unit is hollow and lacking bass. Very disappointed and sorry to have wasted my money on this, especially after having fairly good luck with a previous Philips clock radio.
Digital camera Review: Trash Summary: 1 Stars
I bought two of these, and neither CD player worked for long. I bought them 4 years ago, so maybe they fixed the problem - but I doubt it, as I see the other reviews. I'm shocked they are still being sold!
